Gentlemen: I appreciate the gentleman who posted this video. Yes, the electric motor is from scrap items. The concept is there. For those expert critics who are Engineers, you can give to youtube world with more detailed design and every interested person will be happy. It is my desire and hope that You can post a much better design (from experts) and the biking world will enjoy it. Thanks Gentlemen.

Yes, you are right.. I was one of those also. I worked as a field engineer and troubleshooting most days. It is easy to develop a perspective of what might go wrong, and be critical. But I agree this is a good video and he has obvious good skills, knowledge, and a great demonstration.. Most likely his project will work fine for his needs, and if motor needs replacement one day, looks like he could easily do so.

As I was watching the video I kept myself from reading the comments until the end , just knowing the negativity that people have. I was not expecting such a truthful comment as yours. It's a shame that negative comments are easier for so many people to jot down verses a positive note that is beneficial to all. If this man had a small shop & a box full of tools & material. He would be in heaven. 👍👍 Very good idea you have. Keep coming with the videos.

I have a few concerns: Drilling through the fork tube could weaken it. I'd try to use U bolts. Starter motors are designed for low duty cycle use. Continuous use could result in overheating. The wire size should be increased. I suspect some losses there. I wonder how the battery will hold up over time. Overall however he's clearly at the experimental stage and has some degree of success. The person suggesting a push button switch may have trouble finding one with a high enough DC current rating.

Do you think that a bike with this modification will last a long time or it will break some parts after a while?
@joewoodchuck38243 жыл бұрын
@@emilgame81 I honestly don't know the answer. There are cheapies like at Walmart. There are mid priced ones widely sold as well. I can't speak much about high end bikes. The point being that you may get what you pay for in terms of quality. Then there's the style of bike. I wouldn't attempt this in a lightweight racing style bike no matter what the price. A medium priced road bike might be a good place to start.

Very nice. It's a little vibration though and are you turning off the switch every you stop or break?
@WorldXiater Жыл бұрын
Starter motor or as you said "self motor" can not be used more than 5 seconds? is that right? it produces BAD HEAT. Please answer

Hi love it the clutched drive on the motor solves one problem and could be used on a bracket ( peddle shaft )allowing peddling as well but they look expensive and chines wheels are so cheap nice production

@@CKPHH Bike chains can be shortened; the motor is a motorcycle stater motor (junkyard dog r new) on off switches/ hardware store or auto parts store; washers etc. hardware store. I don't think he has an accelerator handle; those at hardware. The cutting tool is called an angle grinder and cost about $30 at Harbor Freight.
