How To Make Eye & Lip Liner

Eye Liner Pencil Formulation
Ingredients may vary from the video but the method is the same.
(Weight %)
Phase A (Test Batch 50g)
Stearic Acid 40.8% 20.4g
Natural Gel Wax 25.0% 12.5g
Polyisobuthene 250 6.0% 3.0g
Castor Oil 4.0% 2.0g
Cetyl Palmitate 4.0% 2.0g
Beeswax 4.0% 2.0g
Iron Oxide Black 16.0% 8.0g
Vitamin E Tocopherol 0.2% 0.1g (2 drops)
Method:
Weigh all the ingredients with a 0.1 or 0.01g precise scale.
Add ingredients of Phase A into a heat resistant glass beaker and pre-mix with a spatula. Place in a hot water bath that is slightly simmering. Heat Phase A to 76°C/170°F or until all ingredients are fully melted. Make sure the color and texture look uniform. Remove from the heat and aspirate into the syringe immediately, fill pencils while the mixture is still liquid.
Pigment mixture can be placed back into the hot water base to stay liquid, until pencils are filled. Stir frequently to keep ingredients and pigments mixed. Cool pencils before sharpening or place into refrigerator to speed up the cooling process.
Info: This is a very basic pencil formulation for vinyl or wooden pencils.
*Natural Gel Wax consists of Ricinus Communis (castor) seed oil, hydrogenated castor oil, beeswax, copernicia cerifera (carnauba) wax.

Should I take the same steps using your jumbo lip liners? I have the moisturizing lipstick base that I use to fill the jumbo lip liners but I’m having issues with the consistency after it’s in the pencil. Each time I sharpen it, it crumbles.

Hi, we have sample formulation on our website for Kojic acid and salicylic acid. If you have orange peel butter you can try mixing kojic acid and salicylic acid into the butter, however most of the time it's used in a cream base.

Hi, the bases can be used as is or can be further customized. You can for example add essential oils or vitamins and herbal extracts to the bases. Make sure you're not adding more than 10% additional ingredients or it destabilizes the base. If you do add more you'd have to add additional ingredients to stabilize.

Since you used black iron oxide for this recipe I wonder -- is this eyeliner magnetic? Have you tried to see if the new magnetic false lashes will attract to this? You'll get SO many hits and purchases if you can advertise a DIY magnetic eyeliner recipe with link to your store for supplies -- it's all the rage these days =)

Why you put less products on the video than what you show on you ingredients recipe. Can you please explain.
