How To Make Fabric Pouch Necklaces / Amulet Boho Bag Upcycled

Three for one! In this DIY video, I will take you step by how to create three beautiful amulet necklaces with all upcycled materials. Of course you will have your own yummy treasures and goodies to personalize and make your own. These necklaces have lots of names i.e. heirloom necklace, boho necklace, pouch necklace, medicine bag, pendant pouch and more. So many names and even more uses for these. You can carry a credit card, lipstick, keys, photo of a loved one, crystals, sage, rosary, letter, hankie and so much more. Do it! =) I made one a few years ago from old denim & lace. I added some hot-fix pearls & a tiny bit of sparkle. (So it's washable in a lingerie bag) I layer it with a x long chains. I never considered combining my jewelry making with sewing. This is perfect inspiration for an animal print version. I feel a new creation coming on....

Yes I have made similar ones before to hang on my Bike Handle Bars to carry a phone … denim so it’s strong , but that was for practical use , this idea to add Jewelry and what nots to them is adorable ! 🥰

Thank you for being such an inspiration! I started sewing at age twelve and made most of my clothes and my mom’s too. I learned from a dear family friend and a couple aunts that were seamstresses to the 10th degree. Lots of your methods and tips are reminiscent of their guidance. @ I will have to look at your other videos to see if you make bigger bags like that I started sewing when I was 15. I worked in the clothing industry right up to the time I retired at 70 my own factory made garments for some of the big shops in the UK including next, but I’ve never done anything with art fabrics and jewellery although some years ago I did try boho beads so I’ve got loads of jewellery left but no brooches I’ll have to go charity shopping, thank you so much xxx I have subscribed to your channel so I’ll be able to watch the videos as you make them.🥰

Just beautiful. Each one is like a little jewel. You are sooo clever with the lining idea - I have made little bags in the past and never thought about that method of making the lining which is so efficient and easy. I have always hand-sewn mine in the past, partly because it's easier handling such small things, and also I can do it from the comfort of my armchair, like a lot of other things I do, like embroidery, and various bits of art which don't require the studio. I don't get out much, having a limiting health condition, but when my hubby takes me shopping I make a bee-line for the charity shops - now I'm going to look out for clothing that I might not like as-is, but for the fabric lol! We always attend the annual fete at the village where we used to live, and I always scoop up all the junk jewellery. I mostly use this with mixed media and paper art but your video has inspired me to get back to my needle! I have 3 small vintage leather suitcases I inherited from my parents and they are stacked in my studio and look so decorative in themselves. Each one contains quantities of lace, trimmings, ribbons which I've collected over the years... I just love to rummage! PS Love your studio - so pretty and stylish!
