I love the pace of your videos, a lot of other channels waste so much time in video tutorials so keeping yours so efficient is most definitely appreciated. I will contribute to your patreon the second I get some paid blender work (switching from Maya after 12 years)

So glad to hear that, I really appreciate this!! The whole reason I started making tutorials was because I would waste so much time watching hour long videos teaching me something that should have only take 10 minutes to show. So I decided to save people the frustration by actually editing my videos so I don't waste anybodies time. So I am glad that it shows! I was also a Maya, user for many years, a bit of Max and Softimage too, before changing over to using Blender for most of my work. Thank you for your Comment!

Thanks for this very useful and informative video! I wonder, do you have plans to record another one on creating full-fledged Facebook 3D posts using Verge3D for Blender?
@ArtInMotionStudios5 жыл бұрын
Yes I do! Will make a VR 360 video tutorial soon.

This is great! BTW facebook offers not just 360 video uploads but also real 3D models in glTF format. These can be created using Blender 2.80 and Verge.

Great tutorial, many thanks. Using the 3rd technique and found that if my objects overlap, in their separate render layers, they are semi transparent in the depth map. Any suggestions? Tried using Alpha Over node instead of Mix without success. P.S. Congrats on the World Cup.
@ArtInMotionStudios5 жыл бұрын
The 3rd technique i would suggest using the alpha channel for something that has some transparency take just that layer use alpha over with a solid black or white color to fill the alpha in with a solid colour then plug the result into the mixed shader. HAHA The whole country went nuts for a day!

Thank you for this. One Q: which of the three methods did YOU end up going with for YOUR final image - the one you show us at the very beginning (which looked darn-near perfect to me)
@ArtInMotionStudios5 жыл бұрын
I prefer the Mist Pass. You can still separate them into layers and bring it into photoshop to tweak things a little more but yeah the most pass should get you most of the way there.

Hmm, I don't have the autorender option...oh I had it in the side menu. Do you know why it appears on different place than yours?
@ArtInMotionStudios4 жыл бұрын
You are just using a much newer version of Blender.

This used to work for me but now facebook is not recognizing my 2 photos to be a 3d image. Any help?
@inventatorul11402 жыл бұрын
Does this still work in 2022?
@ArtInMotionStudios2 жыл бұрын
It should still work but there is a chance that the function was removed. wouldn't be the first time FB has removed a feature.
@barun3554 жыл бұрын
can you just make a tutorial about making 3d photos like (varundo - just search on facebook)
@ArtInMotionStudios4 жыл бұрын
they do pretty much the exact same thing, i guess they might just be painting it manually in photoshop, but it's still a depth map.

Ive seen this for a c4d tutorial, its nice feature. But without one of the newest phones you cant upload right? There they used www.omnivirt.com/3d-photo/ But your vid shows it can work. Thats nice!
@ArtInMotionStudios5 жыл бұрын
yeah a lot of the new phones with a portrait mode generates a depth map and should work by just uploading it. Thank you for watching glad you enjoyed it!
