My friend, the silver bit on the side of the shoe polish can is to open it. Just twist it and the lid will open up.

Great tutorial , thank you. just a little tip lol that little metal catch on the side of the tin, you just twist it and the lid will pop off.

If you use the solid core cardstock you won't get the white spots or tears. The color goes all the way through and it looks like real leather.

Thanks for this great tutorial. I made a faux leather a while back and used a thick brown bag. It turned out just great too and looked so similar to yours. I love the feel & smell of it. TFS

Beautiful job... 1 oz of Glycerin to 4 oz of water... 1 parts to 4 parts... 1 cap full isn't enough unless you want it dryer. I have used 1 part glycerin to 8 parts of water... at 10:45 you didn't have it wet enough... you could have totally submerged it in the glycerin/water combination... it would not have hurt it.

If you have no glycerine then a hair condition will work as well. It has the same chemical and relaxes the fibres.

Will it rub off even after it’s dried? Like if i did it to the inside of the book cover, would it rub off onto the papers inside?
@SonyaBatten2 жыл бұрын
Maybe it would rub off onto the inside paper a bit. Especially if it’s only been a few days dried. I have some paper I did years ago and nothing comes off

You were saying not sure who first did this method is was a craft lady called Shenna Douglas, she can be seen on the craft TV programme called Hochanda . She did not use shoe polish tho, she used distress ink.. I have not tried it with card, I have only used what Sheena said which is Kraft Card, but I might try the card like you did as it looks really good.

@@SonyaBatten if you don't want people commenting on your video I think you can turn that off I appreciate your efforts though. I was only saying that you could have made the video shorter then it would have been more interesting to watch.
