Hi Sheena :) Love that you've shared such a brilliant idea - thank you. I'd be grateful if you had any idea if vegetarian glycerin will do the same job? Cheers Sheena xxx

Thanks for this great idea, I've never seen this done before, I look forward in making a journal. could I use water & aloe vera gel, or alcohol with the aloe vera gel instead of the glycerin.

Can you use (recycled) carton to make this.
@inkenhafner7187 Жыл бұрын
You can use one-layered carton, paperbags (then maybe without or much less glycerine), Kraft-paper, packing paper. The thicker the paper the more glycerine you'll need, the thinner it is the greater is the danger that the glycerine just lets the paper desintegrate and it will fall apart when you crumple it. You can also use handcream or cheap hair conditioner instead of the water-glycerin mixture. Therevs glycerine in it, too.

I can't figure out how to get the embossing on both sides of the paper. Was a very wide machine used where you can put the embossing folder in sideways while only putting half of the paper in the folder? I have a Bigshot, which only allows me to put the embossing folder in one way. So I tried to put half the paper in the folder and then wrapped the other half around the outside of the folder. This worked fine on the one half, but when I put the other half of the paper in and wrapped the already embossed side around the folder, all of the embossing on the first side was flattened out. I wish the embossing part of the project had been shown. Maybe there's a simple explanation that I'm just missing?
@delygirl19618 жыл бұрын
She used the ebosser which has a wider base. The big shot plus also has a wider base but is a manual machine
@Swist12138 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I was afraid that was the case. I would love to try this technique but I just can't justify buying the BigShot plus when I already have a Bigshot. :o(
@lechatbotte.8 жыл бұрын
Since she had to run it through twice, it might be possible to fold the excess under the folder go through, then flip the un-embossed paper around putting that part in the folder, fold the done side under and run through again, that is if you want one whole sheet. I've seen people use their stamps to emboss using the bigshot too.
@dianawhatley92858 жыл бұрын
use a rolling pin thats what I did
@filfilyawfocus8 жыл бұрын
Hi! Suggestion for least favorite or extra folders......Duct tape the folder closed on long side then slit top open carefully with a blade or tape together a folder that has come apart down left side leaving 1/8 inch binding....these days when they break ..i dont even tape them anymore i use broken ones in two pieces with no problems lettin paper hang out top.

What kind of machine did you use to emboss the paper? I couldn't understand...
@janicek93993 жыл бұрын
It’s called a “die cutting machine” a number of companies make them. It has a roller that presses the embossing folder into the paper. Some people try a rolling pin and an embossing folder. You would have to press really hard and you might not get the impression. I hope my explanation helps!
@alexisthompson15677 жыл бұрын
when I emboss one side it squishes the other side flat again and it is not as pronounced. What am I overlooking?
@pamm22307 жыл бұрын
Alexis Thompson ..Try to emboss the wrong side first, then run through again on the right side. The right side will have the more pronounced design but should also show the reverse side embossing though it will have a different look. Also allowing to dry then restarting the process may give an even different result.
@CricketsBay5 жыл бұрын
The other side doesn't matter. It's covered when the book is finished.
