⚡️1 can of condensed milk

⚡️5-8 drops of vanilla essence
⚡️For the caramel sauce
⚡️1 cup of sugar

1. First, let's gather our ingredients. You only need 6 things: eggs, sugar, milk, vanilla extract, water, and a pinch of salt. These are all common items you likely already have in your kitchen, making this recipe even easier to try.
2. We'll start by making the caramel. To do this, pour sugar and water into a pan over medium heat. Stir gently until the sugar dissolves, then let it cook without stirring until it turns a golden brown color. Be careful not to burn it! Once the caramel is ready, pour it into your mold or baking dish, covering the bottom evenly. This will create the sweet, sticky layer that makes flan so special.
3. Next we'll make the custard. In a bowl crack your eggs and whisk them lightly. Add in the sugar and continue whisking until it's well combined. Then slowly add the milk while whisking to keep the mixture smooth. A key tip for making smooth and creamy leche flan is to avoid overmixing, which can create bubbles that make the flan less creamy. 4. Now, pour the custard mixture over the caramel in your baking dish. Cover the dish with aluminum foil to keep the flan from drying out as it cooks. Place the dish in a larger pan filled with water to create a water bath. This helps the flan cook evenly and prevents it from curdling.
5. Bake the flan in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 45-60 minutes. You’ll know it’s ready when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the flan cool completely before refrigerating it for at least 2 hours or overnight. This allows the flavors to meld and gives the flan its firm creamy texture.
6. When you’re ready to serve, run a knife around the edges of the flan to loosen it from the dish. Place a plate over the top and flip it over to release the flan onto the plate. The caramel will flow over the top making it look as delicious as it tastes.
