Okay disclaimer: I am super impressed by this, it is incredible. But aren't those zap flaps instead of fowlers? I am pretty sure that zaps do exactly this, increase wing area and camber, but fowlers also introduce a bypass channel or "slot". I might be missing something though. Mad respect either way!
@Dynoids Жыл бұрын
@@fakenews1577 yes those seem to be zap flaps, but only because his mechanism doesnt extend too far back. In the end I think it could be called either.
@Chasmodius8 жыл бұрын
Even more impressive than the engineering is the confidence he's showing on camera. That's really hard to learn, and some people just have it naturally. Being able to explain complex mechanical systems in an understandable way to others is an incredibly valuable skill.

+Mark Spohrleder the best I can advise is to carve your own niche, it needn't be huge, but within that niche you are the go-to guy/girl - choose one thing that causes people a problem, or even just an aspect of that thing that if solved can make that problem a little less so, and solve this problem with a simple but effective solution and you've got your niche - if you find you've just solved a problem that someone else has come up with the same or similar solution, don't lose heart, that was an excellent practice exercise and you nailed it! You might not have been the first to solve the problem but you solved it and by virtue of someone else having solved it also it validates your solution - you are even better equipped to set forth and create another effective solution! Don't be discouraged by seeing incredibly smart people and their elegant solutions, no matter how smart a person is there is always someone smarter, learn from watching them and let what they have achieved help fuel your inspiration rather than dampen it. You can do it! :)
@markhondaturbo8 жыл бұрын
Matt Gleeson thank you for such encouraging words! You are absolutely right. I won't be discouraged, but with having just bought a house and working full-time, I have barely any time to fly, or build. I have 5 planes I still have to build and maiden. I hope to find that solution that no one has thought of yet.
