Hey Brittany, thanks so much for your help, I am however stuck. As soon as I import the artwork to place in the frame, and I move the ' Art Layer' under the 'Frame Layer', Gimp automatically fills the frame with the Art. hence chopping the sides and edges off. When I try to rescale it, I get stuck with the chopped image/art. Also, Im totally new to Gimp, with no prior experience in Photo editing software. any idea/ suggestions what I may be doing wrong. One more thing, the artwork I'm importing is 24x36, thank you

No problem I love helping! My first guess is that you maybe didn't add an alpha channel first BEFORE deleting the area inside the frame. Right click on the layer and click 'add alpha channel'. Let Ms know if that works

This video is so helpful - thank you! I'm struggling when it comes to scaling the artwork though; when I try it, I can't see the whole artwork, just an enlarged section of it. When I move the artwork behind the frame layer, a portion of the art is visible within the frame but still can't change the scale. Moving the corners just makes that small portion of the art move, still can't see the whole thing. What would be the fix?

It's hard to help you troubleshoot without being able to see what's going on. Maybe there's a setting going on with the scale tool. Next time you try to scale, look to the right hand side of GIMP and see what settings are there! Let me know if you see anything

hhmm it's hard to know without seeing.. are you making sure that you are connecting the last path point to the first, then hitting enter? then you'll see the marching ants around your path, then you click delete.
