I have a couple of suggestions. First, try exporting to a different format. Jpeg compresses better than PNG, and produces a smaller file, but with less quality. You could also see if you could use an online tool or some image editing software to lower the resolution of your thumbnail and see if that will reduce the size of it. Great video, well described, simple and clear. This has saved me such a lot of messing about. I used to use VLC to grab a frame, and canva, but got fed up of moving back and forth between applications and messing about uploading and downloading files all over the place. I dug out the old clip art cd's I collected back in the '90's and now, along with shotcut and your tutorial, I have a much more versatile resource than canva can offer, which is much easier to use, and quicker. It's a real pity that your video doesn't come up near the top of the searches. I'm so glad I found it! Thanks mate, from the little island of Tasmania. Three thumbs up to you for taking the time. Chris PS just one minor thing. I don't think the music added anything to your introduction. I found it a little off-putting and it made your voice harder to hear....

You don't have to add it to the video. You can upload the video and then if you are qualified, you can upload the thumbnail in your KZbin custom thumbnail settings.

If you have it in your settings then you're good to go if you don't see it yet then you're probably not eligible yet. I think you have to verify your account or something like that first before you become an eligible. You can check with KZbin help about custom thumbnails to find out more information on how to become eligible.

Also, if you are eligible and you do have the setting available then you should find it in your KZbin studio settings.

Nope! You can save your thumbnail as a .jpg or .png and the best part is that it will automatically be in the size that you need for a thumbnail since it is in a video editor! 😁👍

@F1FA_GAMING_ Yes, I agree. It was originally almost 30 minutes, and I figured that was too long, so I did a lot of video editing in Shotcut to cut it down as much as possible. It still came out kinda long, but I got it down to almost half the size of what it was at first. Thanks for the tip though. I really appreciate it. 🙂
