Made this this afternoon only added a little crayfish powder. And used fried chicken and fried king mackerel and cooked shrimp, pig neck one and stew beef. Honestly the best thing I will make monthly. Fantastic recipe.

I can literally smell this while I’m watching you make it. This was one of my favorite meals as a kid and I’m here watching this now for just a little inspiration as I’ll be making it myself this weekend for the first time. I’ve been craving it for years. I usually only get to have this every 7-8 years but now if I can master it myself…. I’ll be eating it way more often. I don’t eat the fish or chicken feet so I won’t be adding those. I know I know I know 🤦🏻♀️ it adds to the flavor of the traditional dish but I’m just not into chicken feet or mixing proteins. It’s a personal preference and I’m not sorry. I’m just kidding 😂 lol I am a little bit sorry. I feel a little dirty by not adding those in my dish. they add to the aroma of the meal and I will miss that smell. But I have to be true to my taste buds. Thank you for sharing this video. ❤❤❤

I was wondering the same but my common sense is telling me with the meat 🥲
@robeegirl1989 Жыл бұрын
Coming from a Liberian, we usually add the blended peppers which include bell peppers, onions and the habanero to two pots. 1st we add some to the meat pot and we use the rest to cook the spinach 😊.

No palm oil? Wow! Healthiest liberian dish ever. I usually eat cassava leaf which my mom adds LOTS of oil. Trying to lose weight but still want to incorporate foods from my culture
@CookingwithWinn2 жыл бұрын
I know most of our food is made with palm oil but you can always skip the palm oil and make the soup like that or with vegetable or olive oil. Let me know if you want me to make a liberian dish without palm oil. I've had cassava leaves without palm oil and it is really good.

@@CookingwithWinn yes please liberian dishes without palm oil. And maybe even videos for personal pots for people living alone and don’t want left overs?
@robeegirl1989 Жыл бұрын
@@lifewithzinnah u can enjoy the healthy palm oil but use it in moderation. Don’t miss out and also most of these soups can be substituted with olive oil/vegetable oil. #moderation is key

Cook the hard chicken first to get it soft and then you can either add it to the soup after cooking it or fry it.
