Thanks man! I made it without using blades and it worked well picked so many mangoes like 150! To be honest I don't know why one needs blade just make the edge really pointed. And I made using a 2 liter coke bottle and it could fit 2-3 mangoes at one time. It was fun and I enjoyed it :-)

Btw I used a knife and heated it in gas stove and then made the cutting in the bottle. It was so smooth and easily done!

I didn't use blades either but I've got to say that my bottle probably won't be effective in the long run. I've gotten 20+ oranges (and could pick more), but I guess he added blades to protect the tip of his plastic bottle whilst quickly cutting the branch. It's like an upgrade b/c without the blades, the plastic could rip further whilst pulling the fruit off the tree (happened to mine).

You got something there, many commented blades not required, I agree with them, it's the tear shape cut out that intrigues everyone, I think if you use larger container that would work even better.
