How about the toxins Ginkgo has when it is consumed raw? Is it not suppose to get the extract from the leaves so toxins are removed? Are its toxins denaturated while its boiled above 100ºC before serve as tea?
@matejbubnjevic951 Жыл бұрын
ive been drinking dried gingko leaves raw in smoothies and didnt notice anything.. how would you extract from the leaves in nature with no tech?

asylumann123 -- You can buy them at an most herb stores. Many people also grow them in their yards as ornamentals. It's not very expensive to buy dried leaf at a store though.

+tumbleweedtim Certain beneficial compounds in ginkgo leaves are present in highest concentrations when the leaves have turned yellow - picking the leaves when yellow is done intentionally. Similarly, different (beneficial) compounds in the leaves are at their highest concentrations when the leaves are just beginning to turn yellow. [All this from very brief googling yesterday]
@bazza8710 жыл бұрын
I just read that the leaves contain toxins and tea shouldn't be made this way.....
@readytogarden377010 жыл бұрын
I believe it's the seeds that are toxic. But even they have their benefits.
@MissSixtiesPennyLane7 жыл бұрын
Barrie Griffin it's the fruit outers not the leaves or the nuts. And they should actually be picked in autumn when they're just turning yellow.
