I love this lady 🙌🏾 I’m a very “by the book” person and she’s one of the ONLY few Haitians I know that tells you EXACTLY how much to add, when to add it, and for how long. I was 💀 after she said “5 cloves” lol most of the time they just throw it in there. SUBSCRIBED.

Ayo what was the name of the spice she named after the oil? And whats the name of the 2nd butter?

@@kwondontheone4865 Haitian Epis (mixture of spices / herbs, she may have a recipe for that if not u can Google) and the butter is a Haitian clarified butter called Lily (in a yellow tub) Usually Lily is only found in Haitian stores, and without that you don’t have the same flavor.

@@kwondontheone4865 I now live in Toronto, so I have the same issue. However I try to have friends bring it from Montreal, or I go once a year and get it then. I use it in most meals, so I buy a few large tubs when I go. Perhaps you can order online?

I just ate Haitian food for the first time and I needed to know how the rice was made because it was seriously the best rice I've ever tasted in my life. Thank you so much for explaining all the steps! I'm not going to lie, I'm a bit intimidated by all the steps required, especially with the epis, but it's definitely worth it! I'm a huge fan of Haiti as a country, and I'm so excited to try more Haitian food. It all looks so good. Merci!!
