Are you thinking of making some spooky decor using Halloween silhouettes for windows? I became obsessed with these and thought I'd give them a try.

SUPPLIES:
• 3 rolls of chalk adhesive vinyl
• Printed character/scene (via Google images)
• Masking tape
• Scissors
• Lead/graphite pencil
• Ruler (optional)
• Eraser (optional)
STEP 1: Perform a Google image search of a spooky scene or some Halloween characters and print.
STEP 2: Attach the roles of adhesive vinyl to the window with masking tape. Do not detach the vinyl backing sheet as yet.
STEP 3: (optional) As we are drawing by hand, this step may help you to scale your scene. Draw a grid on your printout and a lightly corresponding grid on the vinyl. Be sure that it's light and only draw on the vinyl as necessary. I preferred to do this as I went along.
STEP 4: Using a pencil, draw your shapes/characters.
STEP 5: Cut shapes out. I cut as much as I could whilst it was stuck to the window with the masking tape. For the rest, take one drop of vinyl down and a time to cut. Once you're done, reattach with masking tape and continue until complete.
STEP 6: Peel the backing sheet off and stick the vinyl to the window. Remove the masking tape as you go. Sticking the vinyl to the window was a little fiddly and much like covering books, trying to avoid air bubbles and line things up. However, given the nature of these decorations, the idea is for them to be viewed mostly from a distance and at night so no tears or bubbles are noticeable until you get really close up.
STEP 7: Final tidy-up. Trim any overlapping areas with scissors. If you like you can erase the pencil lines, this part is optional. Be careful not to overdo it on the heavier lines though as it may end up fading your vinyl slightly. Unless you're up close you won't actually be able to see those pencil lines or any eraser marks.
I had no issues removing these off the windows either. They came off without any problems.
If you're a reader, I go into much more detail in my blog article including tips and suggestions for things I'd do differently next time (link below).
