Some of the best dishes in the world are made under a false name. Classic Italian spaghetti bolognese, yeah there's no such thing, order it in Italy and you might be surprised to find sausages in your sauce rather than mince. Order garam masala in India, and you'll find your bowl is full of barely ''clothed'' bones, rather than tender chicken breast. Don't be so narrow minded mate.

One of my fondest memories living in North Africa is the food!!! You get fresh your bread straight from the local bakery.... just slap some spicy Harissa on it,. with a glass of milk (halib), and that right there is your breakfast!!!

A Taste of Something Hi, is citronnade a drink? Where I'm from, that's what we call a drink we make from lime juice. It's the Caribbean version of lemonade. Personally for me, the one made from key limes is the best! 😊

My Savory Table - I’m going to try this next week. My brother in law brought some to the states on his visit, and unknowingly, my daughter tossed it out when she cleaned the refrigerator. So I said I’d TRY making it. I know it’s not going to be like his Mom makes LOL

I grew up in the south of france and had many north african friends and man... I have missed harissa so much since coming to the states! finally I saw some in the store so I was really excited to buy it but the flavor fell so short- needless to say, my disappointment was severe! I hope this recipe gives me the flavors I have been looking for! I'd like to know however- what kind of chiles are you using- I'm in texas so there are many and I don't want to make a mistake- thanks in advance!

Thanks for the recipe! We add preserved lemon pulp and lemon juice in Morocco, then we fry it in a bit of olive oil to evaporate the liquid. You should try it, it gives it a nice tanginess! I'm going to try it your way next time.

Yes this recipe is very similar to what I do. I like my harissa coarse also, but some people like it more pasty and after using the food processor they would pass the paste in a food mill but they will end up with a lot less harissa.

The best Tunisian tuna sandwich in ISRAEL is in Ramle shuk(local Market) they are best in ISRAEL, the recipes is the sauce. I been finding recipes of sauce and finally I found it, that’s for you video. One more question do we use fresh red chilies??? Or it’s only sun dry chilies?
@HarissaHouse5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the comment. Traditional Tunisian Harissa uses un dried chilies. If you use fresh chili, you won't get the same depth of flavors.

Love the recipe, as I lived in Libya for a while I got used it and started making it. BUT! Use gloves please, the capsinoids (the chemicals that makes it hot) is fat soluble so rubbing oil on your hands will make it worse.
