Just found this 4 year old video on your homemade pie crust using your homemade canned blueberry pie filling. YUM. You didn't add any salt. That was different. Ha, I always cut my dough same as you except I use the bigger piece for the top because my husband LOVES crispy light crunchy piecrust. So, I make sure the rim is nice and thick, brush it lightly with butter, and sprinkle on sugar/cinnamon mix. OMG - it's delicious. I don't can anymore, but after watching your pie filling recipes, you are tempting me to start again - at least to make pie filling. Love your content.

YIPPY! I did it!!! hahahaha... and I used my apple pie filling that I canned!!! This is the first pie I have made the actual crust!!! Thanks Heather, for sharing this super easy pie crust method! I even did it by hand because I don't have a kitchenaid, lol. I'm super excited! My first Thanksgiving pie :o) Now that's just down right sweet!

Oh I love this mixer, I have the same brand, it can grind meat, fruits too. My husband bought me the fruit attachments. So we can do jellies & jams. (You could get a french rolling pin, it'll be easier to roll the dough over it & move it over to the pan.) The whole pie looked so yummy! Maybe that's what I need to do with the Lefse dough, stick it in the fridge/freezer to stiffen it up a lot more.(I had to step away and leave the video part way played to watch diesel truck pulls yesterday. It was fun.) Thank you for showing us how to do this! Yes, I'd love the cast iron pot, I'm a prime user too! Thanks darlin' for the answer about the spoons.

very good video; i do recommend that you use a rubber or silicone spatula to scrape your jars for the same reason that you don't use metal to debubble the jar when canning

I was never much of a baker. I raised my son by myself and at one point I was working 3 and for 1 month even four jobs. I did good to get supper on the table we didn't do dessert lol. When I was 25 or 30 I actually tried to make pie crust and it was a disaster. I never tried again. I will be 57 in a couple of weeks and last year they asked me to make apple pie for Thanksgiving. I pulled up Ree Drummond's recipe. Pioneer Woman of course. It was great I was actually able to do it I was super impressed. But this one looks so much easier and so much better. Although I do think I'd have to add a little bit of salt to the crust.

Heather that looks great! Grandma use to take the scraps of crust roll them out and cut into strips and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar roll them up and bake them for us as a treat. Love our half acre homestead!
