This is how I've been making my candles for a while! I buy my 100% soy wax on Amazon in bulk and it's a great deal. I get 10 lbs. for about $28. I'm not sure how much it is at Hobby Lobby. I find even with YL I can't really get much of a scent but it's okay because what I love is having a candle burning. I often make them with no scent, just for the ambiance and save my YL for the diffusers.

Yes! I can’t believe I’m not the only one who researched this so thoroughly!! The rope wicks are still coated with paraffin wax and as it burns it releases the harmful fumes! Good on you Holly for mentioning this! Thank you so much for the video! I love your channel! 💕

Loved this video. Thank you. I don’t use candles because I have asthma and the burning of the wick gives me issues. I have several diffusers that I just love. I also enjoy using 100% natural bees wax and my essential oils with wax warmers. I use wax melt liners for the ease of clean up and also I’m able to easily change out to a different scent.

I’ve never made candles I’ve always been afraid that the wax would catch fire but you made it look quite safe. I’ve made soap using silicone cake moulds and they turned out well. My son made me a candle in one of those Mason jars with a handle on and it turned out great and I had a drinking glass afterwards.

It’s so true. Once I started using oils I tried burning a candle years later and immediately got a headache and it just didn’t smell good to me.

So, I enjoy diffusing oils. But they just don’t have the “throw” that candles like these from Bath and Body Works have. Do these candles have that stronger scent??

I personal think they are stronger in the diffusers! I think they fill up a room faster and leave a lasting scent ! You may need to add a few more drops in your diffusers!

I just saw the part about where you said the diffusers give off more scent- how many drops do you use? Because I use extra and I still don’t think it’s strong! Only if you close the door and have it scenting one room.

I use at least 10 total in one diffuser in a bigger room. And I’m not sure if you’re using young livings or not but those are a lot stronger than other oils! Ours smell up a room fast :)

@@simplylakelace5011 thanks for the tip! I do have mostly young living oils, but have been trying some other high quality oils as well. I find that certain oils are strong- like eucalyptus, tea tree, etc. but those aren’t the ones I usually want to smell as strongly. Ha

@@jessicasmoker7389 I too found that they aren't very strong for scenting a large room. I questioned this and was told to use more drops in my diffuser, (although directions say to not use more than 8 drops in the YL diffusers). I signed up for YL so I could buy the oils wholesale, but they are still expensive and if you have to use more drops then that makes them even more expensive. Although I do love the smell I can't justify the expense. And I do love for our home to smell nice, so I plan on returning to burning candles.

@@GramcrackerX2 yes, that’s what I thought, too, that you weren’t supposed to put too many drops in. I’ve been. Using 5-7 in my smallish diffusers. I get my oils at wholesale prices through a friend, too, but it’s still so expensive! I’ve been trying more seasonal blends from other pure, high quality oil companies that aren’t MLM, so don’t cost as much, but they aren’t all strong diffused, either. 🤔 plus, there is something missing compared to the scents of candles, in my opinion. I am doing a mix of both to scent our home- high quality candles and oils. I did some research, and am satisfied that B&B W candles won’t harm your health unless you burn multiple at one time, sit close by and breath in the smoke. Ha
