I hope you enjoy another easy and delicious recipe! How do you know this type of taco best? Make sure you read the description box for all details, also, dont get discouraged if you don’t know how to roll the tortillas, like my mom used to say, no se van rodando, 😅 use your hands to stretch them out to get them as even as possible if not it’s ok! When you fry them they kind of even themselves out 😉 i love you all😘😘

This is the perfect recipe to make puffy tacos!! I used 2 tbsp of butter instead of shortening. I found 400F made the tacos puff out nicely. I tried this for the first time today, and they came out just right. Next time I think I will time it: 1 minute for the first side, 45 seconds for the second side, and about 40 seconds for the other two sides (once folded). Thank you so much. This came out just like you show. The only problem I had is that I mixed 1 cup of flour with 1/2 cup milk, and it was too sticky. I think I'll add a little bit more flour next time.

So a chalupa is basically a an Indian taco but folded. Cool. Being Native I can make that. Keep making great stuff👍👍

What u made we call it stuff fry bread , all the ingredients are the same. But you can also turn it into a Indian Taco as well...If I’m feeling fancy I like to add sour cream n chives n olives... great vid...

Growing up in Texas, we made chalupas from corn tortillas fried crispy and loaded with all the same ingredients plus refried beans. Your puffy wheat tortillas look like Indian fry bread. Both are delicious!

tried this. since the only thing I like at taco bell is chalupas. and let me tell you the chalupas was amazing. I can't wait to try this again with steak instead of the ground beef. my daughter loved it just by itself and my older son SE le antojo como postre and he put some syrup it was amazing!

Interesting. In South Texas, chalupas are corn tortillas deep fried but you leave them flat, spread with refried beans and top with beef and cheese. Then heat in oven to melt. Then add toppings. Anything folded is a taco lol.
