Wow!!! This was a subject that I knew absolutely nothing about. We used our cream from our cows milk to make ice cream. Thanks for sharing.

Loved this video I’m going to try it. I separate my cream by hand so I might have a little milk in the bottom. Plus I chill my milk before separating my cream. Will it still work
@acresofclaykitchen2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it will separate while in the fridge.

Thank you for sharing your recipes. You have so many great ideas. I was intrigued with your use of cream. Have you made your own ice cream using "farm cream"? That is a real treat! At a recent family reunion I shared a story about what my mother told me what they did for "fun" on a hot summer day when she was young. . . . The kids would wait for their parents to go to town for supplies for the afternoon. They would watch until they got about a mile away. They milked the cow, used the cream separator, made ice cream, picked strawberries from the garden, and had a "feast". Things were all cleaned up by the time the parents returned. Then at supper time, my grandpa, their father, would come back from milking their one cow and he would exclaim at the table, "I think Betsy is drying up, she didn't have much milk tonight." The kids dared not look at each other because they would have started laughing.
