Hello, You've got just the right amount of color on Your coaches! Congrats, they look much better now. I`ll try the same with my Railroad Teaks!

They certainly look better than out of the factory. I think I'd go a few shades lighter and then a bit of a black wash to accentuate the detail. But we all do things differently, otherwise, the world would be pretty boring right? 👍

Thanks Gerry. I know exactly what you mean. Since the video was made i have sprayed many more and all at different shades to add a vast variety. I have also done quite a bit of work to the roofs as well. Thank you for watching and getting in touch

@@AidansRailways Just a suggestion from a casual visitor - who was faintly disappointed that you don't seem to have gotten around to grunging up the chassis etc. Had you thought of taking a look at some of the YT videos about model tanks? Loads of ideas there for faking mud, rust dirt etc. I think it could be really cool to see a model train that really looked "used". Your call! And yes, I did actually enjoy this vid, Thanks!

Great video Aidan seen this technique before I think I may try it one day
@AidansRailways3 жыл бұрын
Hi David, thank you for watching and getting in touch. It really is very simple and if you make a mistake, with it being acrylic it’s very simple to remove before varnish. Go on give it a try. Cheers 👍

Thankyou for this video, have lots of these coaches and from various years, the teak is three different shades across them all and the roofs have worn over time. Be very interested to see video on how you approached roofs, they are white but appear to be grey, have you done video on these LNER roofs? Be great to know what colour you used for the base colour of roofs. Many thanks again for a great step guide video

Glad you enjoyed it! There will soon be a video showing how i tackle the roofs and a few more upgrades. Keep a look out and it should be up soon. Thank you Marc

I was reading that the coaches got darker with time due to layers of varnish added
@AidansRailways2 жыл бұрын
I have read something similar and it would stand to reason as a lot of furniture does the same. Cheers

Thanks, but unfortunately I have the China made teaks and the glazing is glued in.

Hi Ron. I had that problem with some of my other ones. With those ones I just did them by hand with a brush. I hope this helps 👍
@AidansRailways3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ron. I have the solution and it works excellently. Video will be uploaded very soon. I took your comment onboard and sought a solution 👍.

If glazing stuck in use liquid mask . Aircraft modlers use it to mask canopy . paint on dries like a rubber . Peel of once paint Is dry ..search on e Bay or local model shop .

Several yrs ago I couldn't be bothered to take the coaches to pieces so I just used a brush. Took half an hour to do 8 coaches. A bit went on the windows, but not noticeable as the train passes me by. Used a tissue to wipe some off the lettering etc. Big improvement on the toy like original.
