Spare of the moment Thanksgiving making hot water cornbread. Seeing yours reminded me of my great grandmother. Your video was the first and I didn’t trust the other ones just by looking at the thumbnail. She did use karo or molasses in hers too but she wouldn’t let anyone see that part.

This was nostalgic for me. Took me back to my granny's house in rural Virginia. My grandpa raised hogs and we ate everything from the rooter to the tooter. The cucumbers, onions, and tomatoes were on the side with fresh chickens from the yard. I could listen to you all day. Your voice is like a soothing salve and warm quilt. This is what we today, elders who want to share their knowledge, traditions, and gifts. Thank you, this was a blessing.

Grannie, I come from Zambia Africa and I can remember so well eating these with a green vegetable, and a broth made from the bones of the meat of the week. You have taken me back to my childhood. The difference is there was no electricity for hundreds of miles and everything was done over the open fire in the village. Thank you

WELCOME TO THE USA! I hope you are doing well!!! What veg did you eat with this?

Chishue (spelling?) was the veggie and it was either spinach or cabbage cooked up with tomatoes and onions.

You are absolutely precious. I am 71 years old and have lost my mother and of course grandmother's. I remember this cornbread but I have never made it. You have brought back beautiful memories of my childhood and my mother and grandmother cooking in the kitchen. I can't wait to try it. But if you want to adopt a 71 year old white man that loves to eat good food I'm available. You and your family please be safe in this horrible time in our world right now. Stay home and wear a mask. I know that many of us love you.
