Sorry for the noob question, but.... I mean the very beginning of the video. When I use the kick in the same way as you do, arrange it at the same distance, it's tempo is very fast, like in the project (123bpm). In your case, however, it is different. May I ask for a hint as to what I am doing wrong?

(16:42mins) between your pads and the simpler, there is a section that allows you to tweek each pads settings i.e Chain receive play choke, send a , send b etc , i dont have this on my ableton live 11, is there something I can do to get my my Drum Rack the same. I've had ableton for a week now and watching you create so smoothly and keep such a tidy workspace is where I aspire to be at some point. I've been putting in about 10 hours every day (my job allows me this luxury) and so far I'm no closer to actually having a track. It's cool though, it doesn't frustrate me as I guess I'm learning lots along the way. The bassline I designed on my first day sounds completely different to the bassline I have now (probably 50th edition so far). Your videos are a massive help. Props to you for that 🤘

Hi Wil, sorry if I missed it, but why don't you use the kick rather than the muted rimshot for your sidechain compression (input)?
@EDMTips3 жыл бұрын
Because the kick is a longer sample, it restricts the length of the side chain pump, whereas with a short sample all the control comes from the release on the compressor
