Buy a half gallon insulated water bottle. Best choice I ever made. Keeps hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold. Put some ice in it and last all day being cold depending on the brand you get

As someone who wilts when it goes above 70 (I know) I buy a bag of ice, put it into a trash bag to prevent water drips & then set that in my lap in the car or wherever. If you're on your feet try putting it in a baby sling, there's tutorials on KZbin for how to wear one with a sheet. Stay cool my friend

Another tip: some coolers have hollow lids, so if you want to make them more insulated, just buy some spray foam insulation, drill a hole in the lid, fill it up and seal it up with some glue after. Will make your cooler so much better without spending a lot of extra money 👍

To keep things super cold, what I do is put large chunks of ice into ziplock bags wirh a handful of salt. Shake them up and place them around the sides. This allows the ice to rapidly absorb heat and cool the inside down, meaning the ice around these bags won't melt nearly as fast. The bags mean that when they're melted, I just pick them up and dump out the water, then they can be recycled or reused for rhe same trick after a rinse!

For added ice time, and to those DIY inclined, most coolers have hollow walls. Drill a small hole, one on each side, opposite. So upper right and bottom left. Get a can of spray foam, attach the included straw tip and shove into one hole and start fillimg with foam. Alternate between holes and then give time to rest and grow and harden. Now you have 2 plastic walls filled with foam, a great insulating sandwich. When adding the ice, i place a folded news paper on the bottom, and while adding ice ill add salt too. If i want ice without salt, ill fill a few ziplocs with ice and place them inside. Fill with ice to the top and i put another folded news paper on top, making sure it doesnt prop the lid up. Be sure to fill the lid with spray foam too. The news papers add insulation, cold goes down, so the bottom paper helps prevent conductivity and the paper on top helps prevent any leakage of air. This summer i added a thin painted layer using gasket paint, both to the cooler top and bottom of lid. This is providing me with a suction type seal and is working even better then last year! The salt allows the icey water that forms to get even colder then freezing which will help the ice cubes touching the water to remain ice longer. A solar powered fan attached to the lid lets me blow air over the top of the cooler at me if the suns real bad or the air is real still and muggy. Anyone got more cooler hacks/mods?

Just put dry ice on the bottom then cubed ice on top. Your only issue will be not having stuff be frozen solid. But if you do a layer of ice over the dry ice, normally you good, and ice might just last a week.

One other big tip if you have the extra ice is to pre chill your cooler the night before you need it especially if you have a big heavy duty cooler that way the fresh ice you put in it the day of isn’t working to chill the cooler and the drinks and it can just keep the temps down.

Here's a little tip to make the drink colder for longer. Block ice on the bottom but then add a layer crushed ice and add quite a lot of salt on it. The salt will make the ice bellow the freezing point of water making it colder. Add the drink of Your choice and layer it with the drink and the loose ice just like in the video. Add more salt if You want it to be colder Edit: The salt will make the ice melt but because the ice is now colder than the freezing point of water and also because there's alot more ice. The Melted ice will refroze making the cooler last longer and the ice stays ice longer

Having drinking water frozen is a great idea to save space and having cold water, but honestly, having a mixture of water and ice will lower the temperature of your drinks faster because of the better contact surface between the can and the cold mixture.
