we don’t use butter or anything on the onions; the mustard only goes on one side before you flip it while it’s cooking; toast the buns!!!; spread goes on the bottom bun, then pickles, then tomato, then lettuce, then a little bit more spread, then meat n cheese. looks great! 🤤🤤

Three thoughts I had while watching this: 1. Your onion-cutting technique is genius. 2. I LOVE your plates! They are the cutest and I will shortly own many of them. 3. If you cook your onions in half butter/half olive oil and add a little bit of brown sugar to the pan part way through they are super yummy, slightly sweet, and caramely (It’s a word).

couple tips: 1. Use the flat side of that griddle to better emulate a flat top. You want max surface contact for browning and flavor development 2. Thinner patties will cook faster and more uniformly while also better emulating that double double. 3. In-N-Out uses sponge dough buns which you can't find in a store. Either way, toast those buns a little next time. I personally use a brioche because it's fancy and super buttery. Brioche and a greasy burger makes you feel like death is calling for you by the time you finish it. 4. You want more fat content. Rumor has it In-N-Out uses 60/40 beef but I've had good results with standard 80/20. 5. Season those suckers on both sides with some salt and pepper. 6. Don't smash the burgers during cooking. You're letting some of the goodness out of it when you do that. 7. Making your own spread is super easy. Mix ketchup and mayo in the ratios you need to in order to get the color right then add some pickle relish to it. 8. Good work on the onions. There's nothing wrong with using a steel pan for those since you want a little sticking and color. The water and steam will deglaze the pan to help coat the onions in all that goodness. If you follow those steps you will be left with something that is probably more par with In-N-Out and will better fill that void in your heart with cholesterol. Best Wishes, Another Person That Misses The Hell Out of In-N-Out
@thatonelopezdude5 жыл бұрын

As a former in n out employee, a few comments... >toast the bun a lil bit >wait until burger is on grill, put mustard on top, spread it out, then flip >in order from bottom to top: bottom bun, spread, pickle, tomato, lettuce, more spread, patty/cheese, onion, patty/cheese, then top bun. You got the essence right, just wrong on technicalities.

Time out, Donut! Teach the Munchkin right so you can minimize those tedious visits to the Emergency Department. Curl the fingertips back towards the wrist so the 2nd nuckles are vertically above the first nuckles. This way the knife might shave some hair or even skin, but the finger counts and lengths remain consistent. It may seem awkward at first but so is trying to cook and eat with hooks.

I work in the restaurant business. Here's how a chef or cook would finely chop an onion. Cut onion in half through the root, put the halves flat side down, make small face-up incisions pointing towards the root, then make two incisions through the side of the onion, using the finger method (3 bent fingers in front and thumb behind to stabilize) hold the onion together like a baseball and chop down. There ya go! A finely chopped onion!

Hey Donut. If you wanna take those onions to the next level for some steak or as a side, slice them into long chunks and flambe it with Malibu coconut rum - if you like Malibu that is. @@jordanhicks5131 not the burger, the onions! Best part about cooking is trying new things. And by flambe-ing the onions you cook off the alcohol. You dont taste coconut.
