You can actually just click "Edit Cover" and pick a photo from your camera roll and you wont have to post it to your story like that..

actually you don't have to post sth on your stories and add it to the highlight to edit your highlight cover, just simply click continuously on a highlight, then click on edit cover, then you'll see the range of your stories added to the highlight and next to them is an image icon, once you click on that icon you can choose an image from your gallery.

I appreciate the knowledge of this video, but I'd like to add something to it. We always don't need to put the highlight cover in the highlight itself. Infact, with this method we always need yo upload the cover as a story first. But, there is a solution, Instagram has a feature where you can select your own cover image. When we're in editing mode for cover, there's a image icon. Clicking that will lead us to choosing our own image from whichever location on our phone the cover image is located. You select it. Edit it. And BAM... You're done.

No wayyy you bought that IG channel? 🤣🤣 my two cents on story covers is do a lil more to make the cover personal and unique tho, cause copying all these celebrity IG channels can potentially make you look more fake because a lot of popular channels can tend to be not ran by the topic person themselves. So maybe going extra steps to make your covers your own preference style, less cookie cutter is more genuine
