Fephie X Claire didn’t even look at this video. She watched a different video which told her what to do and that’s what she did. There’s not really any other way to make them at home except this way, so that’s why it may seem that she copied HowToCookThat.

@@Sophie-nz6in While I think Ann is the best food scientist/artist/carpenter/plumber/everything, remember that Claire is also a professional baker and probably saw similar methods taught to her in school. Jelly Beans were invented in the 1800s, and something similar to this would have been part of the school curriculum for both Ann and Claire. They're not originally *just* from KZbin and here to make a buck. They went to school and had lives before us. ;p

Well, it’s not like that’s a necessary step. It’s just if you wanted to go that extra step and finish them like commercially made jelly beans (and many other candies for that matter), this is what you’d do. You’re eating 100% sugar pretty much so I imagine it’ll taste the same either way XD

Wouldn't just buying jelly beans cost less? I mean, this is awesome but I don't have this stuff just lying around my house.

Then don't do it? Some of us like cooking regardless of the cost, and it's so much more rewarding and satisfying when you've made it yourself.

Fennekchu This is just so silly. Of course it would be easier and cost less. That's not the point, the point is the joy of making one's own jellybean!
@jasminekim6669

Well, yeah, of course. But making them yourself just makes it really special, and if it's for someone as a gift, it shows how much effort you put into it rather tahn spending a couple of bucks at Publix...

I'm asking because I understand you have a nutrition & food science degree: isn't it unhealthy to cook with so much sugar, glucose, and food coloring?
@HowToCookThat
@HowToCookThat 9 жыл бұрын
+Andrei Simionescu i believe in the principle of moderation. So if you're going to have a little bit of something sweet, then don't just buy something cheap & sugar-laden but make it yourself and ensure it's the best quality.
