Fephie X Claire didn’t even look at this video. She watched a different video which told her what to do and that’s what she did. There’s not really any other way to make them at home except this way, so that’s why it may seem that she copied HowToCookThat.

@@Sophie-nz6in While I think Ann is the best food scientist/artist/carpenter/plumber/everything, remember that Claire is also a professional baker and probably saw similar methods taught to her in school. Jelly Beans were invented in the 1800s, and something similar to this would have been part of the school curriculum for both Ann and Claire. They're not originally *just* from KZbin and here to make a buck. They went to school and had lives before us. ;p

Well, it’s not like that’s a necessary step. It’s just if you wanted to go that extra step and finish them like commercially made jelly beans (and many other candies for that matter), this is what you’d do. You’re eating 100% sugar pretty much so I imagine it’ll taste the same either way XD

I got an idea!!! When you put the glucose syrup into the sugar and corn flour mixture, you can put a few drop of food colouring and flavour into the glucose syrup so we don't need to do a coat jelly beans step!!!!

VU TRONG KHANG its a very late replay but the syrup + castor sugar coating is what makes it crunchy like the regular jelly belly, the base is gonna be just soft and chewy

No, the crunch is from syrup and sugar coating. Shellac is what makes it shine. It has no colour, taste or smell. Also it may be a beetle secretion, but honey is insects' secretion too, and no one freaks out about that...
