“Wabi sabi. Beauty is in the imperfections.” I believe you have never made a sofrito and don’t understand how much the flavors get intensified in the cooking process...

The flavor combination of pine nuts and strawberry is a tip of the hat to the ancient Persian flavors of Fesenjoon which is typically made with pomegranate and walnuts

That depends, it could be with singe f and t. Sofrito is not an exclusive italian word, nor original.

If you look at the sauce, it's slick and oil drips off of it. The oil is separate. In classic French sauces, this is always a flaw.

No, this is just an awful idea, as an italian the idea of polenta and strawberry is just way too off. There is not a main ingredient here, polenta is a side like a potato mash for example and soffritto as well...i can't see the subject in this dish...i mean: What is that??

The comment about the strawberries being cooked down and transformed into something savory, similar to tomatoes, lends itself to something more like shrimp and grits from the American south. Using polenta rather than grits is more of a texture thing.
