Tedious process, but this gives me something to do with the apricots from my apricot tree. I. HATE. Apricots, and that apricot tree produces tiny and extremely unpalatable ones. But I love the smell, and aromatherapy. Do you think this process could be streamlined by mechanical kneading and using a weight and cheesecloth to press the oil out? My apricot tree produced a ton this year.

@@ProffesionalZombie12 hmm i never tried it before with a mechanical kneading .it may work but i suggest you trying the handmade method first with 250gr of apricots It’s a hard way but its worth it

Hi teresa if it is sticky and oily you just need to squeeze it / kneed it lit hard. dont add a lot of water just enough to extract the oil

I get about 50ml out of 200 or 250gr of kernels. Its one of the best skin moisturizer I’ve ever tried.

It'll last longer if you add vitamin E, it'll keep it from going rancid. Also store it in a dark glass bottle, small bottles work best to keep air/oxygen from getting into bottles.
