Your lab is a wreck! What kinds of things have spilled on that hot plate? Terrifing but still so fun to watch!

It's just many years old lol, I don't remember

That hotplate looks like it's done a lot of work with corrosive stuff, I'm impressed that it works, that's awesome

I think you should boil the undissolved remains after decantation in water and filter it, there might be some more KMnO4 that precipitated with the MnO2, because KMnO4 has only a solubility of abou 64g/L at room temperature. Then just boil the filtrate down to a smaller volume and see if any KMnO4 crystallizes when cooling it down.

Thanks for the advice! I plan to make some again using KClO3 this time to get better yields. Idk if I'll make a video tho

Why not attach a funnel to the tube to increase the gas contact and avoid suckback?
@jam_kemist39867 ай бұрын
That's actually a good idea, idk why I didn't do it but it worked either way, maybe it would have made the reaction more efficient

Hey can you trun paint into titanium metal ? Cuz buying titanium metal is very expensive and not sold everywhere. But buying it as paint is very cheap. I am talking about titanium dioxide, TiO2. You must try on this video. Titanium metal is very very useful for all kind of electrochemistry.
@jam_kemist39866 ай бұрын
Would be cheaper to buy Ti metal then extract it from paint lol

How much water did you use?

At first you just need enough to dissolve the salts (KOH and KNO3)
