If you put the sesame oil in before the oyster sauce, the oyster sauce will slide right out of the spoon. Give it a try!
@maryleialoha28436 жыл бұрын
Gale Coffey, Thank You!!! I've suggested this too. From now on when we see sauce or honey go in before the the sesame oil we must use the cooking power force and beam it with our mind forces over to Daniel and Katy!

My high school had a culinary program. Food made by students, for students! It was usually pretty good stuff, too. Expensive, though, so I almost never went because I never had cash! There was no other lunch program, though-- bring your own food, fork out for the culinary program's food, or mooch off your friends, those were our options.
@FutureNeighbor6 жыл бұрын
Really? Dang that school sounds pretty nice haha. When I was in HS, the cafeteria would offer sushi rolls from time-to-time. But it was so funny, as it was really expensive and kids didn't want to share. So you would see kids eat like half of the roll as soon as they got it ... and then walk over to their group of friends. Easier to defend against mooching haha...

In Spain they serve the typical meditarranean food. We usually had a first dish of beans, or soup or any Hot plate and then we had the seconds with fish or meat. Sometimes we had salad instead if soups and things like that(if it's summer or Spring mostly) and to finish we have some fruit or yogurt.

Yess, I went through a long phase making bacon with bean sprouts every day. I know, they aren't mung bean sprouts but they're more difficult to get here. Nowadays, I love frying beansprouts and adding soy sauce with sesame oil, maybe even a bit of Chinese chilli oil too. So good!

Another great video! Love the new recipes. Our school served horrible pizza slices, sandwiches and some days fries and such. I just bought my own lunch during break time, and so did most other students. Supermarkets were a few minute walk away =)

When I was in school (I say that like it was forever ago, it was only two years lol) we had Papa Johns everyday, Panda Express on Friday’s and Raising Cane’s on spirit week events. Then we had regular stuff like burgers, spicy and non-spicy chicken sandwiches, the usual. It’s pretty okay food, I’d say. Not the healthiest, but kids love it lol

Damn, back in high school we had our school cooks, these ladies just made us food, staples in my countries(Lithuania) diet, like potatoes,wheat etc. just healthy dishes, and they had the unhealthy food ( pizzas, bagels, etc.) on another side of the canteen, students were split, a lot of them ate the freshly made meals, and others bought bagels. I stopped eating there, after developing a lot of allergies, and just not eating at school. I like my own cooking the best.

Actually enjoying a Korean breakfast while watching this. I made the oyster mushroom banchan from your “Korean breakfast banchan II”...so good, and fried rice with leftover smoked sausage, onions and egg. Going to try those patties this weekend, but instead of pork I’ll use some of the homemade ground turkey I made last week. Thanks for the recipes!

For your question ! We have a self serve “bar” at my school that has different food everyday of the week, usually baked potatoes, tacos, pasta, things like that. Then we have a line for hot meals like pasta, meats, jambalaya, gumbo, etc. then lastly, we have the holy grail.... Dominos pizza! It’s delivered in the morning and kept hot until lunch, so sometimes it’s a little dry from being kept in the heater, but that’s lunch at my school !!

I'm a tad bit late but in my high school, its not fried as much. There's pizza hut on fridays but aside from that it's generally either store-bought or homemade. There's a bunch of baked stuff but my school is super small so its probably different than other schools

Just found your channel, as an American that recently got into Kdramas, I’ve been looking into more Korean culture and even (very slowly lol) learning Hangul. I’m a foodie that can’t eat hot peppers because of an allergy, so a lot of the food is off limits for me, but I still see so many things I want to try, and try to incorporate into my meal options. These breakfast ideas are wonderful! I’ll subscribe and look forward to all the dishes without chilies I can try! On a side note: as soon as you said “Numero dos”, I was like “are you in CA?” And then I heard about the chimichanga and was like “definitely in CA” lol. Wondering I’d I’m right (as a Californian lol)

When I left they brought in a coke machine, so not sure if they improved and wouldn’t have any idea what they serve now because it’s been over 20 yrs. Yes, when I was in high school, I remember Pizza Hut and Subway were the other options aside from the regular cafeteria food. Nowadays, my daughter’s school has a menu with healthier options, but she doesn’t like it. If there’s something that she thinks she might like she’ll buy it, but for the most part she says none of the kids like it. I usually pack her a lunch.

School launch in the U.S. is not great. Sometimes I look at it and it doesn't even look edible, the only thing I would say was safe to have is the chocolate milk or the regular milk which was low fat or fat-free, that's why I always brought my lunch from home or just skipped lunch in school and ate when I get home.
