Love these cookies first introduce by my first Landlords.in Queens New York , they were Greeks and soo caring and beautiful people. It was during Christmas and the lady came down to see us and brought a plate of different treats , it was delicious. Then I venture to go inside the one famous corner Greek bakery/ restaurant / cafe at the time in Queens, New York, Omonias Cafe and I fell in love with everything. I am very selective with my palate, I really think I was Greek in another life. Thanks so much for the recipes, I can wait to make them.

I love these cookies! My aunt (by marriage) came from a Greek family, and I fondly remember going over to her mother's place on Christmas night, where (a) the old lady greeted us kids with a big sloppy kiss, and (b) a plate of kourabiedes! Their family did Christmas in a very different way than ours ... lots of people, lots of drinking, lots of amazing (to us white-bread types) food, dancing and laughing.

My kind of Christmas, Grandma, family, food and laughter!!! Experienced that as a child, which was great, now my cousins have families of their own and we never see them! Memories!!!

A family friend used to give us a box of these cookies every Christmas until she became too ill. For years I would find our young daughter with icing sugar around her mouth and on her clothes when she stole one! The last year our friend was alive, my daughter and I made them and delivered them to her; a very poignant moment. She gave me her recipe, but being so ill it was pretty cryptic, and the cookies were a bit .... hard. Thank you for sharing this recipe. Although none of our family is Greek, our Christmas just wouldn't be the same without these to leave icing sugar traces all over the house!!

I'm an 80 year old Greek and i love to use salted butter too. My Greek lady friends TELL ME IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS, THESE ARE NOT AUTHENTIC GREEK KOURABIEDES BECAUSE OF THE SALTED BUTTER. I tell them I'm 100% Greek and they definitely are authentic. 😋I use my grandmothers recipe very similar to yours with Anise oil. I enjoyed your video.

Love the recipe. If I may offer a tip to get a perfect half moon shape. I spread the mixture onto the board. Using a small glass, something like a sherry glass cut the mixture by pressing half the inverted glass onto the mixture. Perfect uniform shaped cookies

I’m with you 100%! I only use Salted Butter 🧈. It’s not that “salty” and, that Touch of a salty taste, adds a hint of counterpoint in a sugary cookie 🍪. Thanks for using salt 🧂... which as it’s said about good people they are: #SaltOfTheEarth 🌎.
