Dude, your screws are not long enough !!! The 2 1/2" screws you used (@10:10) have to go thru 1 1/2" wood + (1/2" or 5/8") sheetrock leaving almost NOTHING left (of the screw) to attach to the ceiling joists. Replace them with 3" (minimum) or 3 1/2" or longer screws. Tip: You can use a ladder hock (screwed directly into the ceiling joist) at the 2nd end and skip the whole process of having to make a second hanger. Only ONE ladder hook ($4 bucks @ Home Depot) is needed since the single ladder hanger (you constructed in this video) will keep the ladder from rocking side to side. Great tip on the chain safety !

Thanks for the feedback! Agreed on the screws, if I were to do it now I'd use at a minimum 3 inch lag screws/bolts. I actually don't use the ladder hangers anymore as my ceilings are too high for it to be practical

Good Idea. The heavy chain may be a bit overkill. Better safe that sorry though

It's definitely overkill, really the chances of hitting the ladder hard enough to move it are low. If something was needed, a bungie cord would likely be more than sufficient

Very nice. Thanks!

Store the ladder, which requires a ladder to store. Hmmm
