i really like this and want to make this with fabrics, leather/ vinyl another time.... do you think if I use fabric that my singer 7258 is strong enough?

If you use soft fabrics and a light stiffener, it might be able to sew but most domestic sewing machines work best for light projects like makeup purses and backpacks
