How To Make Lantern Ilima Hawaiian Flower Ribbon Lei

This video shows how to make this beautiful Lantern Ilima Flower Hawaiian ribbon lei. I was inspired by Instagram postings from @leimakana. The original designer of this lei is Tracy Harada @Uimauamau. She also has a youtube channel that I adore so much / uimauamaullc .
This lei is a little bit smaller that the lei that I usually make, because I use 5/8" ribbons, but it's the cutest lei I've ever made. Thank you to Tracy Harada, who designs this lei.
I bought most of these ribbons from her store Uimauamau.com. I didn’t learn how to make this lei, but I emailed Uimauamau, and she gave me the material lists and cut instructions. I try to figure it out myself how to make the orange flowers and how to assemble by looking at the picture. And here you go….! I hope you like my version of Lantern Ilima Flower Ribbon Lei.

The materials for this 26” lei are
5 yards 5/8” yellow with gold edge
5 yards 5/8” red with gold edge
4 yards 7/8" bud green satin
4 yards 7/8" hunter green satin
3 yards 5/8" bud green satin
3 yards 5/8" mint green sheer
11 yards 3/16" ombre green

Another amazing lei! Im planning on making this particular version (although with all yellow, no red) for lei day 2024. I visited Oahu in july/August of last year, so we just missed lei day 🥲 but with ribbon and artificial flowers, and just the right scent, it can feel like aloha every day 🌺
