Does it matter which side the resistor hooks to on the voltage hookup? Or do you need to hook it in with "ground line" also?

Hope you are fine, Actually your question is it is necessary to connect the +ve polarity of LED with diode and -ve polarity with resistor ??? Right So it's answer is "yes" , because it is half wave ractifier in which phase is connecting with diode anod and neutral with resistor. Hope you understood if not please ask your Question again i will do it with my best inshAllah
