Ah man finally! I've been waiting for a 'modern' lofi house tutorial. Usually its all of that old school dusty lofi house stuff, would love more of this more energetic 'colorful' lofi house.
@WillHatton3 жыл бұрын
My pleasure! I’m super green to some of the newer Lofi-house stuff so any artist recommendations you have will be super helpful and then I can get to making some more tutorials!

@@WillHatton I'm in the same boat, I can't really find many artists who do it good. Honestly I just came back to this video again today to ask you to release this as a full track because it may be one of the best types of tracks of this style out right now haha. One suuuuuper commerical tune that you've obviously heard of is Skrillex ft Poo Bear - Would you ever... That's what I would consider a super polished, as commercial as you can get version of this style. So the spectrum could go all the way up to that, but I still like the more lofi style that you do here. OH - and then there's this absolute gem right here kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJmuaXieq5uUhqs Oh Wonder - Lose it (Jerry Folk Remix)
@WillHatton3 жыл бұрын
That Jerry Folk remix is a banger, thanks for bringing it to my attention! I was listening to Ross From Friends today, I'd check him out if you're not familiar alongside Chaos in the CBD! Will keep you posted on releases and new lofi house tutorials! Thanks for the support!!

@@WillHatton Just went on a walk and organized all my old music, got reminded of a few tunes that come close to the vibe I'm talking about. Some are more 'lofi' than others, some may not even qualify, but this is the type of house I'm talking about that gives me the same vibe as that modern lofi stuff. I don't know how to describe it but it all sort of falls into the same category in my head, separated from that more 'commercial' or polished house vibe. I think a lot of it comes from the pillowy/softer kicks and the mix being a bit more blended 'together' than having great separation. I'll only post a few of the good ones that I've never gotten sick of it so I'm not spamming ya with a bunch of trash, but I'd check these ones out for sure and you may see some common denominators. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5DEf5h7rslsr8k --- Fred Again... - Julie (Stay) kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKi7gmiVg9OYj9U --- Ben Pearce - What I Might Do kzbin.info/www/bejne/inrUeZ-IZrN-qJY --- Eat More Cake - Hide From The Light (not sure why this one reminds me of the same style but it does) kzbin.info/www/bejne/fnrMY5VspLhoaK8 --- Bow Anderson - Heavy (Icarus Remix) And then heres a couple pop tracks that I'm sure you've heard but they follow that same type of 'modern' lofi house vibe, at least in my head. kzbin.info/www/bejne/p52niKiYr5mgi6M --- JVKE - Upside Down kzbin.info/www/bejne/ppqyeqmEhJeAbrM --- Surf Mesa - ily (i love you baby) Lastly, Honorable mention to Izzamuzzic, I don't know where this guy fits in but he brings a similar, darker vibe. --- kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKOmh6V-drmhgtE

Unfortunately I don’t have this Ableton project anymore (which I’m gutted about! 😂) but it’s 100% one of the kicks from the “Mally Raw Official Sound Kit” pack on Splice.

lovely video, i do have a question though. what is the benefit of resampling and adding effects vs making a group and adding effects on the group?
@WillHatton3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! There's no immediate advantages, just depends on your workflow. I like to resample mostly because it saves on CPU (stacking a lot of plugins eats into my little mac!) another benefit just for me is that it limits me from making more changes and adding more layers. Once I resample and delete the previous groups (especially with midi) I have to make do with what I have which stops me from overthinking and allows me to work more quickly! For this video though, it was just to glue everything together in one tiny sample!
