Finally! Measurement by volume. Thank you 😙. 2 tbsp Coconut Oil 1/4 cup Shea Butter 1/4 cup Beeswax 1/4 cup lavender infused Apricot/Olive Oil A bit of Essential oil (15 dr Bergamot, 10 dr Clary Sage, 10 dr Lavender = less than 1%).

Measurements by weight would be more accurate and would fill any mould if you calculate the mould volume.

It’s always nice when you find a video with a recipe that contains these kind of helpful measurements. 😊 It’s a wonderful recipe too - have made many versions of it already.

Do you keep the bars in the refrigerator to keep from melting
@herbalacademy9 ай бұрын
It's not necessary, but you could do that if you plan to keep them for a long time.

2 questions. 1. can the animal ingredients be replaced with plant based with the same measurement? 2. With molds being all different sizes and require different amounts of ingredients, how do we determine how much of each ingredients to use? thank you.for sharing. =) looks like an almost perfect recipe.
@herbalacademy9 ай бұрын
These actually don't contain any animal ingredients! You can make the recipe as is and just fill whatever molds you have.

anyone know what kind of butter refined or unrefined?
@persephonespomegranate4 жыл бұрын
tina baskins judging by the colour, she used refined. I prefer it myself in body butters and lotions that I’m scenting with essential oil because I don’t like the scent of the unrefined and I find it can get even more grainy if not treated right. But some people claim the unrefined is more beneficial for the skin. If you use unrefined, melt it very slow and low and I’d advise using a double boiler method vs right in the bottom of metal pot like in the video. She didn’t mention the heat level I don’t think. When I first started, I didn’t realize I was heating my butters too quickly (even though I used a double boiler and only went to medium heat). Even with freezing and re-melting the butters to temper them I was still getting graininess in my lip balms and face balms until I dialed the heat way back and just accepted it would take a long time over the stove to melt.

I would say no. You need the coconut oil to be solid.

@@lachiquita1116 I realize your comment/question is now 2 years old, but I just came upon this video yesterday and was going through the comments and (obviously) just saw yours… I just use google to help me calculate my measurements when in question. Have you been able to find a measurement calculator somewhere? Hope you’re enjoying your weekend. 😊
