Magnesium will stop tingling / itching once your body is no longer deprived of magnesium. The tingling is to let us know we do not have enough magnesium in our system
@HealthOrigins11 ай бұрын
Oh, how interesting, I thought it was just too potent and irritating to the skin undiluted or not emulsified with something else.

Is it equal parts of water and magnesium or 5 parts water to 1 part magnesium. I've seen different ratios and wondering which is correct.
@HealthOrigins8 ай бұрын
@bronwyn6704 it's equal amounts of magnesium flakes and water, it's in the description under the video.

The tingle feeling is because magnesium is a vasodilator, Meaning, it expands blood vessels and creates more blood flow. The tingle is blood flow

That's great, I am glad it helped. You can also try having a detox bath with 2 cups of sea salt, 2 cups of bicarb soda and 1 cup borax (or borax substitute in UK).

My husband absolutely loves me using the magnesium oil on his back, topped with castor oil which takes it in deeper. He isn't as fond of the lotion.

A good idea with the castor oil! 🙂👍

recipes that include emulsified wax, bees wax, and coconut oil are fairly common.
@lizbrown95532 ай бұрын
You actually would need to add stearic acid to keep this combined....Emulsifying is what keeps it together.

Ive heard adding rose oil would help w the itchiness.

This looks amazing. I made another recipe that I made from another yt channel for the magnesium lotion and she used beeswax and I’ve heard others suggest emulsifying wax and citric acid due to making sure it Doesn’t get rancid. I made the mag lotion and it didn’t mix very well and when I apply it to my son and my skin it stings and irritates it so I’m not sure what to do other than waste a whole Half jar and I’m concerned that I have to use emulsify wax, beeswax or something so it doesn’t go rancid. Is this a NECESSARY step?❤
@HealthOrigins Жыл бұрын
Thanks. Wax is definitely not needed for this recipe, shea butter does the job here and it emulsifies beautifully and definitely does not go rancid. It sounds like you have too much magnesium oil in your version, perhaps add some melted shea butter to your mix and reblend - you don't want to waste the whole lot. Worst case scenario, you can always use that cream as foot cream, it shouldn't irritate too much as the foot skin is thicker.

Since there is water in the lotion doesnt it need a preservative? Ive always been told anything with water MUST have a preservative. The last thing I want to do is rub a bunch of bacteria all over my body...but really would love to make this.
@HealthOrigins11 ай бұрын
If you make small quantities, it will not have a chance to get any bacteria. There's enough salt and fat in this to not require a preservative. If you're worried, perhaps you could keep it in the fridge.

Please advice what ratio of oil and shea butter to the amount of magnesium oil. Did you use equal weight measurement? Thank you! ☺
@HealthOriginsАй бұрын
All the quantities are in the video description below: Magnesium Rich Body Lotion 3 Tbsp shea butter 1/3 cup olive oil (or use other base body oils, like sweet almond or Tropic body oil) 50 drops of your favourite essential oils 1 cup magnesium oil

Can we add any essential oil for fragrance ???
@HealthOrigins3 ай бұрын
Yes, absolutely! 🙂 Add it after the shear butter is melted, when you're mixing the oil in.

Is it required to make a brine? Can you just put the flakes straight into the recipe and dissolve them in the oils in the recipe instead of water?
@HealthOrigins7 ай бұрын
I don't believe the flakes will dissolve in oil, I haven't tried making it that way, so can't really comment.

Can we use magnesium citrate instead of chloride? Would it work?
@HealthOrigins4 ай бұрын
I am not too sure on that one, you will have to do a bit of digging and research online 🙂
@lenwenzel74402 ай бұрын
Magnesium Chloride is more absorbable and is quite a bit more beneficial. Or so I have been told.

Hello, I made the magnesium oil first as instructed. I made the lotion as per instructions and the oil separated from the shea butter. What went wrong?
@HealthOrigins4 ай бұрын
Hm, not sure.. Was the lotion homogeneous (the same even consistency throughout) when you made it? Did you add the magnesium oil/water slowly into your oil while it was mixing? What oil did you use?

Can you add fresh or dried flowers or herbs to the magnesium lotion ? I don’t want to use essential oils oils , when I have organic flowers and various herbs . ❤

That would work too, as long as the flakes melt 🙂

Ok I’ll try both ways. Would love to make the magnesium lotion- I tried another person’s video & it didn’t come out right. She had a food processor & you have some kind of blinder - all I have is a hand mixer. The first person’s it never set up- I hope if I try yours- it will. But again I only have a hand mixer 🤷🏻♀️
@HealthOrigins Жыл бұрын
It should be absolutely fine with the hand mixer for my recipe 🙂
