This is not a good way to repair coax. This will have a massive amount of ingress and egress. This could only be considered a last resort, and temporary, patch. Proper compression F connectors and an F-81 barrel splice is the only way to fix a severed coax. Or just replace the line. Otherwise it will cause issues with packet loss excessive noise and stability issues. But hey, I'm just a cable technician, what do I know.

If I caught someone doing this on a HFC network i would cause them much pain with their cheap pliers. In general you try not to splice coax rg-11 and smaller, just rerun it... or you run the risk of dropping the node with this Mcgyver shit, in fact Mcgyver woulo know better than to do this. If you damage your coax drop or tie cabling call your provider and get it fixed properly - or face the wrath of your neighbours when they have no internet

In the course of remodeling our den I needed to reroute our internet cable. Found these instructions and thought it looked pretty sketchy so I went to Lowes and spent 45 minutes trying to find a connector that didn’t require buying a $60 kit. Came home with the no-tool connectors and found they didn’t fit, so I tried splicing the cable, following these instructions. No luck - No internet. This morning I decided to give it another try, being very careful to make a tight splice and then carefully “rebuild” the cable, even replacing the foil to resemble the rest of the cable. Bam, perfect internet connection without having to spend the morning shopping. Thanks for the how-to video!

Do not do this at all if your coax cable is attached to a cable tv/internet provider. This is perfect for something like an over the air antennae or other similar applications. It might be able to work on satellite tv cable also, but i wouldn't expect perfect picture afterwords.
