Today I share with you the recipe of the Mauritian Haleem .
The haleem or halim is a stew/soup made of meat and lentils, popular in the Middle East , in India and Mauritius. Haleem is a comforting dish, eaten as a thick soup, it is also part of the Mauritian street food.
Its appeal is not a mystery; the explosion of flavors and the slow cooked melting meat are irresistible.
Ingredients
250 g black lentils
200 g of dal gram
200 g red lentils
150 g cracked wheat
300g of chopped and fried onions
200 g of chopped onions
1, 1/2 kg of meat (preferably rib steak)
1 tablespoon of garlic
1 tbsp of ginger
Spices
10 g cinnamon powder
30 g cumin powder
5 g cloves
10 g coriander powder
3 g pepper
10 g turmeric powder
