Unbelievably easy and fast to make. Mayonnaise in 15 seconds. All you need is an Immersion Blender.
No more store bought unhealthy mayonnaise. See for yourself.

Ingredients:
1 Egg
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup olive oil (also sesame oil, avocado oil, sunflower oil, coconut oil or canola oil works)
Let rest in refrigerator for 24 hours before using it.

What cool do you use I used extra virgin olive oil from Costco and it was disgusting recipe to the exact looked right but tasted awful! I think it’s the oil?!?

Just did a trial batch using your suggested recipe. After 2 previous fails with other recipients, your did tienes out a lot more creamier than previous attempts. I’ve left in the frig for a while to settle and will try later on a sandwich. A taste test left me without that traditional taste of mayonnaise but I think it’s just a matter of time before I get to the finish line. Thank you!

If you use a more neutral oil,it will taste more traditional. The very best,for me,is Avacado oil..Olive has a strong flavor.

It’s only supposed be the yolk , that is the classic French recipe for mayonnaise. So you are right.

it works!!! this is a life saver and money saver for sure!!- good bye store bought mayo made with crappy seeds oils and chemicals my body doesnt' need. I made mine w/ olive oil, and added 1whole tsp of mustard to mine bc i love mustard and it's divine! thank you so much for sharing this recipe. the secret is to have ALL ingredients-eggs included at room temperature.

@@AmitShYT Yes processing all that oilve oil will be difficult on the body. Yet it will still be 1000x easier for it to do so when compared to all those chemicals that come in a lot of those store bought Mayo brands.

It's not. I literally just did what he did and it didn't work. There's steps he's leaving out. One of them is everything needs to be room temp, which it was, and it still didn't work. There's something he's leaving out.

Trick is to go slow with the oil. He added oil at once. that hardly works for everyone

Homemade mayo is good for a week or two in the fridge. I just tossed some homemade stuff that had been back there for months and it looked exactly the same though I dared not smell it so you'll probably just want to write a date

I cannot tell you how much hassle this trick has saved me from. I used to make it the oil fashion way using a hand mixer and adding oil little by little trying not to cause the mayo to break. Thank you so much ❤

Thank you! I completely understand where you coming from. Had the same experience until I tried it this way. So much faster and the success rate for me is 100%. I mix up ingredients so the mayo is never boring. I occasionally use mustard, horseradish, lemon juice …. Just experiment with different ingredients in order to keep it interesting 😁

I am so surprised at how we have been conditioned to just buy everything and have lost the skill to make items like this. Brown sugar was the real head shaker for me. 😊

I added mustard oil instead of olive oil. It turned out pretty good, the taste is a little bit oily though. Nonetheless a good recipe!

Ok just made this for homemade coleslaw (finely chopped via a food processor). I did 2 (very small) eggs, 1&3/4 c of canola oil, 1 tsp of salt, I think a tbsp of Dijon mustard, undetermined amount of apple cider vinegar (maybe a tbsp? I’m a dukes fans, so I like the AC vinegar), half a very small lemon, paprika. For the coleslaw, it needed a lot more salt. Also, couldn’t find my hand blender cup thingy, so I used a Pyrex 2 cup glass measuring cup and it worked perfect.

Ok when I remembered to buy Mayo and was trying to find the one I wanted because I was not successful in making it at home. The prices for Mayo were 7$ for a reg sized jar! 😮 it would be cheaper to make it! So I tried again with this recipe and had great success! Thank God!

Yup totally understand. Just so you know you can do this with any kind of oil. Olive oil has a bit of a different taste and not everyone likes it. I am glad you finally found a recipe which works! 😁

I was taught to do this by super slowly adding oil to a whisking mixer and it would break about half the time. I doubled this recipe using regular vegetable oil and it emulsified like MAGIC and made me feel like an idiot for doing it the old way, though it tastes slightly off. Probably because veg oil is super bland. Make sure to put your immersion blender in the bottom of the container and don't start pulling it up until you can see the mayo forming and even then really slowly. I also seem to recall adding Dijon mustard using the old way, which added a touch more salt and vinegar as well as mustard which is an additional emulsifier, probably will try this recipe with a different oil and dijon 👍

Using vegetable oil defeats the purpose of making it from scratch as vegetable oil is highly inflammatory. Try avocado oil. It’ll impart a better flavor.

I don't like olive oil in mayo too. It over-taste yolk. Seed oils are not good too, they are inflammation. I use a avocado oil.

Because you need to use a very narrow container and an immersion blender, otherwise it won’t work

I tried with the exact measurements but it didn't taste like mayo, it had a very strong after taste of olive oil. p.s. I use organic extra virgin olive oil first cold press.

You also need to let it stand for at least 1 day in the refrigerator to let the flavor develop

I’ve seen other examples say use a “light tasting” olive oil instead of EVOO for this. All the oxidation caused by emulsification causes an off putting taste in virgin olive oil. Can use other oils that are liquid at room temp aswell.

@lazarus921rapeseed or canola oils are oils for machines not humans! Evoo is probably too strong tasting, I used just regular oo and it turned out really good!! Could add smashed garlic or mustard to taste as well to make flavoured mayo 😋😋

I don't know but I added extra virgin olive oil and it had soo much overpowering taste in the mayo I was not able to eat it :p I don't know if I am doing anything worng.

USE NEUTRAL OIL (CANOLA, SUNFLOWER) NOT OLIVE OIL. MOST OLIVE OIL TURNS BITTER IN FOOD PROCESSORS AS IT OXIDIZES RAPIDLY.

Those oils are terribly unhealthy . They are the reason we're here making our own because the store uses those oils.

@@MetabolicMuscle False information. There is nothing unhealthy about these oils. They're quite commonly used here in Japan, which has the world's longest lifespan. Either cite a scientific source for your scare story or retract it. You've been reported for spreading fake news.

Tried out this recipe and it was very good! Can’t believe it’s so easy to make at home. I personally would substitute a different oil when I make again just because olive oil has more of a taste so I would go for something more neutral like vegetable oil or canola. Thanks for posting! Very helpful

Hope you used a boiled egg and not a raw egg, you can get get on a raw egg.

Use Avocado or sunflower oil. Vegetable oil is not very healthy. I personally use both together half and half and it has become our new favorite! Thx for your comment! ☺️

I tried and failed miserably. Idk where I went wrong, but it turned out to be supper runny. It did not emulsify. I did 2 extra egg yolks, didn’t help. 😢

Did you use an immersion blender and did you use a narrow container? It won’t work in a regular bowl.

I have had that problem before too. I think the egg has to be room temperature. Anyways dont throw out runny mayo because it can be fixed. Theres yt videos explaining it. I forgot exactly how but i think it was just adding an extra egg in and slowly adding more oil and blending.
