I am sure you could play with the consistency a bit. It seemed to kind of harden quickly and when I tried to pipe it it went solid. I did another video where I added glycerin and it helped a little bit but you have to move quickly and it got kind of messy.

Hi thank you for this sooo easy but how does it dry an how long does it take to dry out xx
@aliciaarroyo63 жыл бұрын
It dries out in a few hours. Since it’s made with melt and pour it can be warmed up and used again. It has kind of a sponge like texture.

Does it have a reaction when put in a cold process soap bar? Does it set up and get firm or does it get gooey or stay soft?
@aliciaarroyo614 күн бұрын
I have never put it on the inside of cold process soap. Unless you soap really low temps I probably wouldn’t. Most of the time when you put cp soap in the mold it continues to heat up a bit. It may not keep its form. Maybe just make a test batch

Thanks for your time and for the video. I've got a question for you.... when the time goes by, is the soap dough harder? Thank you in advance!
@aliciaarroyo64 жыл бұрын
Yes it will get hard. Keep in mind though since it’s made with melt and pour soap your skin or heat will warm it up and make it moldable again. I may experiment more to see if I can find something to harden it up a bit more.

@@aliciaarroyo6 i wonder if adding sodium lactate would help the soap dough harden over time? plus sodium lactate is something you can make at home i just started using it in my glycerin bases, bc of the two bases i used (shea and glycerin) having different consistencies, glycerin being softer, adding 1 tsp sodium lactate per lb of soap, actually made the glycerin soap much better for swirling the bases and getting the same consistency in the finished product. maybe it will do the same for the dough? i hope this helps! What is the best way to store the soap dough for later
@aliciaarroyo63 жыл бұрын
I just store it the same way I store my other melt and pour soap. You can probably keep it in a zip lock bag at the least. I didn’t have any issues with it going bad after a year. I saved some as a test batch.

Question-- with all the corn starch, does it still lather and use up like regular soap if you wash your hands with it, or use it in the bath/shower?
@aliciaarroyo63 жыл бұрын
Yes, it still lathers and bubbles. It’s not quite the same but it’s just like regular soap. I would only use it for small sections of the soap, not the full bar.
@joannpage66914 жыл бұрын
Great video and thanks for doing this. What temp was the melt and pour soap base? 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼❣️
@aliciaarroyo64 жыл бұрын
It will vary on what base you are using since they have different melt points. I think with something like this it won’t matter too much because the corn starch is not going to melt. I would wait until you see a light skin on the soap. However if it’s a little hotter you will have more time to work with the dough and mix it fully.

If I just want to make the dough and not model it into something immediately,would I just wrap the melt and pour dough like I would for cold process dough until I am ready to make something out of it?
@aliciaarroyo64 ай бұрын
Yes, you can make the dough and wrap it up. It can be remelted but it can become harder to work with. I usually make the dough and make whatever shapes I want in one day. I have saved leftovers and reheat them and it worked good for me.
