Just a note to that buildings color indicators subject in Info views - according to TMPE wiki: - Traffic info view - red building indicates that cims have hard time to find parking space. They try to find place to park for several times and if unsuccessful, they give up and go home. So solution is more parking lots around. (This indication is available only when Parking AI feature is "on") - Public transport info view - there are two modes: incoming demand and outgoing demand which you can toggle between. Incoming demand indicates which buildings are hard to reach by public transport. Outgoing demand indicates that cims leaving the building were struggling to reach their destination via public transport. (Again - both available only with Parking AI feature is "on") - And just for completion - when Real Time mod is played, Trafic Routes Info View is enhanced too... that Red buildings indicate that journey times are taking too long, and in some cases it will cause cims to abandon their journey and return home. Btw. I really like your videos! I've found them just few weeks ago but then I watched almost everything :D I love how you are able to keep your cities nice and clean styled all the time regardless their expansion - that is something I am not able to on in my cities - I always end up with a city jungle :D Looking forward to more of your videos!

A few videos back you asked for ideas for expanding the map as you buy up more tiles. I think it would be neat to see small towns built up around either specific industries or unique factories. Or perhaps have industry towns connected by a domestic rail line to ship goods from across the map to the factory zone you've got set up now.

Biffa, regarding oil extracting. do not put extractor right next to each other, specially large ones. They will drain all the oil in the immediate area really fast. and then you'll have to move them. @22:55 I'm surprised that TM:PE lane arrow changer merges straight and left together, while giving right the dedicated turning lane, in situations where there aren't enough lanes to give each direction a dedicated lane. It would be a lot more efficient to merge right and straight together in those situations, and give left the dedicated lane, since left turners are more likely to have to stop for oncoming traffic

@toddabbott7814 жыл бұрын
To keep traffic down in industries make nodes for each production. So on one road you might need 2-3 resources built, then processing, then maybe a large plant. Do not put in any storage and make sure there is good access to a railroad depot for exporting. It also seems that these refined resources are not used as much for stocking your merchants so add some small generic farms, lumbering, oil, and industry in for that.

@GamerzBrofessional4 жыл бұрын
i havent watched the full video yet but i would imagine that the red building could also signify a high traffic building, not necessarily one thats hard to get to. Like how some roads will glow red if they're high traffic but not clogged, i would think that a high traffic building (like a school for instance) would be red without being hard to get to per say. And if i had to hazard a guess it judges that based on the amount of people that are currently in route to the building at any given time and/or how long they've been in route.

I saw that your factories were importing raw goods. If you just increase the production of raw materials, then it might just lower your expenses
@metric-goat-vanguard4 жыл бұрын
Your industry areas are importing and exporting the same raw materials at a net loss. What's happening is that if your extractor buildings make far more raw material than you need, they have to send their trucks off the map to export it. Meanwhile when your processor building wants resources, it can't get any from your extractors because they don't have any available vehicles. Counter-intuitively if you used more raw materials you'd probably import less. The other way you could fix this is with more storage buildings for raw materials. I can see you have plenty of storage for processed goods, but you don't seem to have as much for raw materials. The storage buildings are important not just for creating a buffer, but also because they come with more trucks. The limiting factor right now is not your ability to produce goods, but your ability to move them around.

A couple questions (Playing Vanilla on Xbox): What's the best way to raise the amount of people in your city? But atm I have no need for anything (the zones) Wosh the base game had the bigger asymmetrical roads... What's the best way to deal with 2 roads becoming one so the game doesnt automagically allow people to turn around (like at the end of a highway) And then for round abouts, what's a good unit amount to keep a clean circle. (I've then been downgrading one of the roads so the lane mathematics work out...not sure if its helping)

Death waves happens when you let too many people move in at one time. These cims will age and eventually dies of old age and since they kinda move into your city at almost the same age as one another this means when they die they do so in mass. To prevent this you need to zone your residential slowly, as in if you planned a large neighbourhood you zone the residential areas one street at a time instead of the entire area.

I think that would be a nice benchmark to do considering that when I did look in the performance manager Cities Skylines did run 92 threads. I don't think all are running at the same time though. It would be interesting to know when planning next purchase if the additional cores would make a difference. As it is now I'm bottoming out an old Core i7-2600.
