Instead of using the ruler each time, id mark on the board from the saw length so you could just adjust it each time instead of measuring both sides each time

Thank you for sharing. This would be an amazingly practical tool for a hobbyist that would not take much space and would not put the fingers at risk as much as a regular circular saw. You put a lot of skill into making this and it looks very well planned in its construction.

You could probably fudge all of the tools except the drill; use your finger to put in screws, and use the drill for the CNC purposes as well as its normal purpose
@thecheeseinator5 жыл бұрын
The only things that seem like kind of uncommon and expensive tools are the router and maybe the tap, and I think you can easily get away without those. I think you could do this with about $35 of tools from harbor freight. You'd need a saw, a drill, a screwdriver, a chisel or dremel, a soldering iron (or even just electrical tape), and maybe a piece of sandpaper. Oh and a ruler and a pencil. EDIT: Actually it looks like harbor freight has a rotary tool kit for $10 that could probably do everything except the soldering.

This is a dangerous machine. Few suggestions: 1. Clamp the machine down or make the bottom extra heavy, so it does not move flimsily 2. Put safety cover on top of the blade. 3. Put a visible STOP switch, and put the wire away from the table not across it. Good luck.

The beginning of the video demonstrates cutting thin materials that would be shredded by a table saw and small pieces that will be unsafe if you have to get your hands close to the blade. This fits an obvious need. I imagine Micro-Mark sells something like this, many people want to build it themselves.
