Good video Zack. I’m a guitarist in the same city. I’ve been a professional musician since 2005 meaning all my income has come from music based income. I teach an average of 50 to 60 students a week at like Zack said $150 a pop. I play in a few groups making $300 to $1200 a show (my cut not the bands) I gig 1 to 5 times a week depending on the season. Other income sources are transcription work, studio work ( manly jingles but sometimes on songwriters music) rig building and random other services that pop up. Basically cast a wide net like Zack said….you have to do a lot of jobs in this business. But if you have a good work ethic and a good head on your shoulders you can do it! 🎸🤘

hey @schrom81 when you say "$150 a pop", is that a monthly price that covers 4 weekly lessons, or is that your per lesson rate? I taught years ago, before my touring career took off, and while I admit it's been many years, surely I can't be THAT out of touch!

$150 for a month is a good rate for Omaha. Usually it's 4 lessons per month 30 minutes at a time. We charge about that much as well for our lessons. There are cheaper and more expensive options, but this is a good rate for families that want great lessons and convenience
