I pulled a 2022 Panini Select J.K. Dobbins (or someone like that…can’t really remember who it was) redemption card,and a couple of months later I received my card in the mail with a letter of apology saying…”We are sorry that we can’t fulfill your request at this time,and we are issuing this replacement card.” So…what did they send me? A 2022 Panini Select Silver Holo Brock Purdy Autograph Rookie Card. At the time,I had NO IDEA who this “Purdy Guy” was. Kinda glad I hung on to it.

Lots of buyers for 1995-2005 era serial numbered inserts and parallels. Baseball has been getting stronger lately. I think Baseball is timeless for many investors so it has a unique appeal vs other sports. But right now grabbing HOFers and RCs from rare insert/parallel sets from the 90s and 00s and thats been treating me well. Also inflation narrative makes fixed-supply collectibles more appealing to investors and future price appreciation. Great point...So key to develop a collector network off-line...thats really helped me.

I buy base cards of superstars at my local show. Players like Pujols Ichiro Ortiz Acuna Harper Montana Favre Chrome etc... Speaking of inflation, I think this will serve me well 10 years in the future.

I definitely think being the only person with a graded copy of a particular card is a good place to be when it comes to certain cards. So many times I’ll be looking for niche cards from a set that rarely gets graded and the one person that has it graded has it for a hefty price. For me that’s the 2005 Topps Turkey Red DeMarcus Ware rookie. I have a clean raw copy in my collection, but one of the only graded copies is on eBay for $200+

Dude they graded the card and had no idea it was cleaned/altered until it was called out online. These fools don’t know what they’re doing. There has to be hundreds of altered cards leaving the facility every week.

According to the great curator, the best way to make money in 2024 is to buy thousands and thousands of Psa 9, crack it open , resubmit it , and 10 % will return a Psa 10. He says he’s making over 10K a month doing it

Its been the same since the pandemic..only brrakers can get their hands on new releases ...unless you spend a grand on boxes online. Ill buy singles 3 years out.
