My wife and I have been flipping dining room sets for a year now. We buy sets whenever we come across them and refinish them as we go. Our sets usually sell within a day or so and usually for full asking price. Pictures are a huge component to sales. Something as simple as flowers in a pretty vase on the table make it stand out as people are scrolling Facebook Marketplace. We buy mistinted paint from Sherwin Williams for $1/qt or $2/gallon. We only buy Pro Classic or Emerald series. These are long-wearing paints made for woodwork. Always light greys, creams and whites. Our average margin is about 400% but as high at 1,200%. We’ve paid for 2 Italian vacations and a kitchen remodel with the income. It can be very lucrative if someone is creative, handy and motivated.

Yes, where are you from. Around here no matter how little you pay for something, no matter how much work and money you put into it, people will want it for next to free.

I build rustic furniture. I had en entire driveway full of it and most was selling well with the exception of a very tall and skinny cupboard with shelves and a door. I rolled up a towel and put that on one of the shelves and it sold in five minutes. Sometime people can't visualize where or what to use a piece of furniture for. You need to spark ideas into their heads sometimes. Great advice, thanks very much!

I have been flipping furniture for the past 4 years out of a little Dodge Neon. It was hard. I had to borrow trucks from relatives. Now, I upgraded to a Scion Xb, whuch is like a van. I love it and can do larger pieces easier. I love color, but many customers are afraid to buy colorful pieces. I study trends and am not above repainting like you did on your hutch. Great video!

I just came across this video and I wish I could have seen it sooner. My late grandmother started her own antique store just by refurbishing her first item: a wooden chair. She made quite a lot of money by doing that, until she moved to house flipping (in a matter of about 10 years, she had enough money saved up to buy 2 or 3 houses and flipped them and rented them out). I am a VERY creative person and I took a lot of woodworking classes in high school which I finished last year. I would love to start flipping, and this helps me out a lot. Thank you so much for your knowledge!

Just the fact that you are sharing all this information with us is amazing. One artist took so much time on a KZbin video to tell us how rude it was to ask her about the paint colors she used. I had to extend a thank you, to you first of all, for making your videos and doing them just like you are my girlfriend that is showing me her secrets and tips! You are very informative, unique, REAL, and no bullshit....and I just really enjoy your style! Not just your style in the makeovers you do, but also in your style of sharing and teaching. You are very real and unlike many videos on KZbin that could be very good, but the person in the video will end up dragging it on or seeming like they are talking just to hear their own voice and I end up having to skip to the end....lol...but I have actually been interested enough and for the 1st time EVER....I watched several of your videos tonight the entire way through and didn't have to fast forward any of them to the end to keep my sanity!! lol....But seriously, you have a new fan and hope to continue to learn from you and see many more of your videos in their entirety! Thanks so much!! :) Your finished pieces are always BEAUTIFUL and ONE OF KIND!!

This was so incredibly helpful. Thank you!!!!! I just found you today on KZbin. My passion for the past 5 years has been finding gems that people threw away in the trash or finding things at thrift stores and turning them into beautiful pieces. I enjoy the process so much. Almost every piece of wood furniture in my home are things that people just threw out and I refinished. I ditched my dream to help my husband start a gym. I have gotten so caught up with coaching, running the business, and supporting him that I have neglected my true passion. About 4 months ago we decided that I would back away now that the business is steady and I can now pursue what I have wanted to do all along which is flipping furniture. Even though I’ve been a hardcore entrepreneur for the past 5 years, this new endeavor is a whole other beast even though on the business side of things the practices still apply I have a lot to learn. Thank you for being candid and giving this advice. It means a lot and I cannot wait to keep watching your videos so that I can learn more from you.
