How to Make Money Selling Garbage Pail Kids Trading Cards on eBay!

Here's another item to add to your eBay bolo list. I recently found some at an estate sale and they are worth big bucks.

GPK collector here: The most valuable cards are anything from the 1st edition Original Series or cards numbered 1a/b-41a/b (that are from the original series many later on had this same numbering) - 1a,1b,8a,8b are worth considerably more especially with a high grade... Right now a loose ungraded mint-near/mint 1b,8b can be worth 200 USD and a 1a,1b around 300-350.. 1st series come with glossy and matte backs with the glossy being more desirable. There are also Canadian and USA printed cards with the ones printed in the USA more desirable. Deduct 10% for each of the undesired variations... (obviously check ebay sold listings as well to see going rates) Happy to answer any questions... There's a lot to know about this hobby.

Also I want to point out that you're not going to get $400+ for any other Original Series single card other than 8a or 1a if its ungraded. You would have to send it in and get a PSA10. Also prices go down considerably after the first series. There are some exceptions (error cards and some cards that were renamed like FRAN FRAN for example)

On eBay, but, I just had a handful. 1,000 is a lot. First make sure they are not reproductions. I would look up individually and if not worth a lot, then sell them in a lot.

Can tell from a mile away your Blasted Billy isn't close to an 8 your friend really should have held back to a 6 to make it close.

Don't even need to look past the upper white border being considerably smaller than the lower white border, wouldn't score a legit 4 with that.

You have to send them to a grading company like PSA. Try a facebook Garage Pail Kids group.

There were many checklists in the original series, if you can post the number on the front of the card I can assist.

@@deathcard2003 It says 1985 topps 1A-41b. I think it's the very first one in excellent condition.

@@waltercopus1485 There were 4 checklists in Original Series 1 - Adam Bomb 8a (back being a checklist) - Blasted Billy 8b (back being a checklist) - Bony Joanie 29a (back being a checklist) and Thin Lynn 29b (back being a checklist) All these cards had certificate backs as well - if you have an Adam Bomb checklist that has a glossy back and was printed in the USA that is centered and in mint condition ungraded it would be worth conservatively $400. (I would send it in to be graded if its in that good of condition) The Blasted Billy glossy + printed in USA would be worth 150-200 and the Bony Joanie/Thin Lynn would be worth around 40-50. Subtract 10% for matte and Subtract 10% for Canadian card. Obviously check ebay sold listings as well for going rates, these are just generalizations. The checklists are more desirable since a lot of kids (myself included) wrote all over the backs. LOL - hope this helps.

@@deathcard2003 this not a card number. It's a yellow topps 1985 chewing gum garbage pail checklist. Blank on the back. #1A nasty Nick. Thru 41AMean Dean are on the left side. On the right side it goes from1B Evil Edfie to 41B Holton Joe.

You have to send the card into a certified authenticating company.
