A friend just taught me to make Navajo fry bread yesterday. Looked up KZbin videos to see the different ways people make them. I knew, as it is basically a fried flatbread, there would be different techniques and ingredients. I like your video the best after watching a couple dozen. You speak clearly and now I am going to make a batch of fry bread completely on my own today. I think my neighbors will appreciate me sharing fresh fry bread two days in a row. Hope they will also like your ingredients because I am more likely to have them on hand.

There are countless number of chefs and home maker chefs making countless number of food videos. Some don't even know their way around a kitchen but get tons of views. I really enjoy seeing real people who know what they are doing cooking real food. Great videos like this were once easy to find, sadly not so much anymore. Thanks, so glad to find this.

My oldest daughter b came the family cook & my husband did the BBQing & potato salad. I was the youngest so I didn't do anything at home accept watch TV. Everybody took care of me so does my hubby. Enjoyed seeing a man do a fry bread video.

I watched this quite a while back and I was so impressed. Someone mentioned your cleanliness and I agree. Every time I've gone to Arizona for a few weeks I've gained 10 lb because I love Navajo Tacos. But I've never been able to make them as good as the natives. It's all how you were raised. I was raised on Swedish meatballs and lutefisk. Lutefisk, in my opinion, is rotten fish. Thank goodness it was only served once a year. I have not carried on the tradition.

thanks for sharing this recipe, that Looks really good, I would be remiss if I didn't commend you on the cleanliness and neatness of your kitchen, Your mother really taught you well, I have 2 sons and early on they learned to cook, clean, wash, iron etc. which I caught a lot of flax for, family and friends always said that's woman's work, I say they are survival skills because all guys don't get married or they marry ladies that can't or won't do those things. I know you've made you mom proud. Peace-N-Blessings dear.

Maxine Stokes I have 5 sons and all of them cook and clean. I told them that one they were going to fall in love, get married, and have kids, and giving birth is very painful. Your wife will need help with everything, especially if they have a c-section. And it’s part of bonding your family 💝 4 out of 5 did good 👍 then there’s that one that inherited the machismo gene 🤦♀️

You and the other lady commenting are amazing moms. That is how all children should be raised. I taught my daughter those things and how to change her oil and change a tire. Our kids need to learn to be self sufficient so that they marry for the right reasons, not because they need someone to take care of them. Gear job with your boys ladies.

I love using my kitchen aid to make tortilla and fry bread dough!! You can make it and make the bread right away! I use flour, baking powder, salt and olive oil & slowly add warm water to mix in kitchen aid...best modern way to make Navajo dough! If our grandmas had a mixer they’d be having loads of fun using a kitchen aid mixer! I know my grandma would of loved it!! Thanks for the video!! You’re awesome bread maker especially with clapping it out...I cheat by using a rolling pin! 🥰

Ya-ta-hey! It's good to see a young man who likes to cook!Thank you so much for that tutorial on how to make nav. frybread! I grew up in florida & we used Crisco for everything! Fried chicken, hushpuppies, minute steak, ect. Yeah, I know you can't get bluebird flour & you cannot get comino seeds/Gebhardt's either, at least not where I live at in Tennessee. We ate a lot of grits too, either w/fried fish or for breakfast. My favorite thing is Navaho tacos. (I get comino seeds from the Mexicano market in another town)

Hes cute...and has a funny country accent. In new mexico and arizona the accent is slower, spaced words, and no twang unless their cousins visiting from lubbock hahahaha! Also you can order bluebird from amazon and walmart because youre so far from colorado. It is pricier, but not some corporate machine. I live in colorado, a little far from the southwest corner where its made and its still more expensive than pillsbury. I feel like its worth it because the families that run it bluebird show gratitude to native people for using their product and times like these need good people.
